Updates and Bug's

dear PB, your updates are already very expensive to us, to be honest they are annoying, constantly raising the level of new heroes and other things that are already tired, so now another new feature … the latest updates did not go well at all, all updates were with an error, an error, an error again and again … you are not ready to do updates!!! not ready to give us a quality game !!! instead of raising levels and caps to withdraw our money , it 's better to fix the whole game !!! there are errors that weigh more than a month, for example, a crown hatch or an angel standing after death, which has been happening for more than 2 months… but instead of fixing it, you do everything to get paid from us for the level and new heroes… it’s not necessary… we need to make the game without eternal mistakes, and then raise the level even less than now… thank you for your attention, I hope for your understanding…

I get that bugs are annoying, but you can’t just expect Perblue to suddenly be able to fix every single bug currently in the game. Not only does that take time, but even if they were to fix all of the current bugs, new bugs could very easily occur. And that’s not necessarily Perblue’s fault; that’s just an expected consequence of programming in general.

No software program is safe from bugs, no matter how hard you try to fix/get rid of them. It’s unfortunate, yes, but that’s just how it is.

as a counter-argument to this; yes, it is :stuck_out_tongue: bugs don’t appear out of nowhere, they are introduced either as a resullt of poor code or oversight by a designer/developer/whoever has worked on the related part of the game, as well as oversight during QA testing and either not picking up on it or deciding to go ahead with release anyway.

Yes, some gremlins are expected to find their way into production, but not a lot and you’d expect most of those to need quite specific conditions that might not have been tested (eg. uncommon device, very specific hero/skill interactions, atypical user input)

Often we’ve had issues with released content that have seemed quite glaringly obvious and have been picked up by anyone playing the content for a few minutes, which really shouldn’t be the case.

We’re also currently seeing things that are scheduled to be released at a certain time having to be pushed back because they were not ready. Better than releasing them in a broken state, but a clear sign perhaps that there is simply not enough time between level cap raises to develop everything that comes with that, while also dedicating sufficient time to properly QA the new content, let alone fix old outstanding bugs or even bugs introduced recently, no matter how trivial - thus creating even more new issues and snowballing the problem.

I do actually think that the game runs very well, but I’m all for prioritising fixes (including things that aren’t necessarily ‘bugs’ such as War Matchmaking) over just smashing out new level content every month.

Yes, you could argue that Perblue’s developers and QA team could do a better job of looking for bugs, but my main point is that even with that, this game will never be absolutely, 100%, perfectly “without eternal mistakes” like OP wishes it’d be simply because that is near impossible to achieve with how complex coding and software development can be. And that isn’t something that you can just say is entirely Perblue’s fault because it’d inevitably happen regardless of who was running the whole thing.

We could go on a whole other discussion about the state of the game and things being pushed back and all of that, but I was mainly focusing on the whole “we need to make the game without eternal mistakes” thing because as someone currently studying Computer Science, it’s honestly a bit frustrating to see some people think that all of these issues can just magically be solved with the push of a button.

Honestly, shifting the cap raises from 4 to 6 weeks would buy them quite some time… Not much but still.

Also, with Y5 Yellow badges needed to craft Y8 Yellows, I´d say it´d be only beneficial to extend the time between cap raises…

big pip is a full stack developer / head of web dev at a prominent UK web studio :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: and thinks that if he’s written some code and it doesn’t work properly, it’s indeed his fault :man_shrugging:

Certainly there’s no such thing as an exterminate all bugs button, but sometimes it does seem that some of them shouldn’t make it into the game in the first place, and some have been present long enough to at least give them a look over. Testing is one of the first things to get shelved when under time pressure, and this isn’t the first time that content has had to be pushed back because even PB couldn’t keep up with their own cap schedule.

Also - when DS was purchased, the new producer claimed that the code was so poor that they were hesitant to touch it at all, and I don’t doubt that lots of it was reused here which could explain why things that seem trivial often take a long time

Pretty sure quite some of it is there to this date yeah. Not sure about the efficiency, maybe some clever head would make it much easier but uh…

I see many answers, but I want to tell you as an active player who reports errors, many of the errors that I have been talking about for a long time have remained in the game, that is, they do not correct them at all and more and more are added to these errors … as already written, this snowball is ready… the game is completely in error everywhere…
the most annoying thing is that even if I write that there is a mistake, the developer does not fix it, he only finds out what everyone sees, what is immediately in sight … therefore, it is better to make high-quality updates than to raise the cap every month, the level so that a person buys a deal… I’m talking about the fact that the developers have forgotten about the game and all they are doing now is taking money… everything is focused on earning money, and not on making the game high-quality again…
this is the same as it was at the beginning when the maximum level was 80, the game was fresh and there were a lot of bugs, but the game was new, and now it’s 4 years old and it’s like this again, where there are always bugs in every update… and they only correct what everyone sees …

Many said it before and I must pronounce it again… Surely many of us would like some small behind-the-scenes video of the game. I remember seeing SEGA Heroes´ behind-the-scenes video (which I think is still online) and while it did not tell much, it was at least a nice thing to do.

If the dev team could do it for us, there could be a video about some small addition to the game so that we have a better perception at what is needed to do in order to achieve the goal @Loutre.
I do understand that it technically violates the know-how of the company because…well… I guess all can say that it is a property of the company, yet will still be nice to do and maybe would help gain some more credibility for the future of the game.

We most likely cannot do any behind the scenes things for Disney Heroes due to licensing.

Actually, you could contact Disney and get a Disney Insider part or similar for Disney+, so I do think there could at least be a theoretical chance though this way :-).

Hehe, optimistic realist here, so yeah trying to see the potential possibilities :-).
