I’m starting my first invasion today but I only focused my gold on 5 peoples, should I only use them or should I follow the color of the team ? (yellow, blue, red)

I would suggest that you use a team which is all the correct colour. As you progress through the invasion you will get power ups for everyone on that team so before long they will be much more powerful than the 5 that you have worked on so far.
