What’s happened for badge booster crate? I’m opened 50 and I have zero emerald badge! ZERO! Only red and yellow… Perblue are you seriously?
have u ever CRAFTED a emerald badge? if u havent then im pretty sure thats the reason why
Three things that are commonly misunderstood or overlooked about Badge Booster Crates:
-
This one you probably know, but for anyone visiting this topic who’s unaware: the pool of badges that a crate can draw from is set when it enters your inventory, and does not include any badges introduced with the newest rank. Thus, if you’re opening crates that you got last month when the highest rank was E10, those crates will not give any badges from the E11 or E10 ranks.
-
Once you fall below a certain number of equippable badges that you need (somewhere between 5 and 9 badges, I think, but I’m far from certain), the game will attempt to expand the pool of available badges by also drawing from badges that you would need if you promoted heroes that have all their current badges equipped. So if you have Jack-Jack sitting at R0 with all six badges equipped, and you lack only a few Emerald badges, you might start seeing Small Fry or Tripledent Gum (THIS AGAIN?!) badges. This is why Numi has long advised leaving one badge crafted but not equipped on any low-rank heroes.
-
For point 2 above, the game counts each unique badge you need, regardless of how many you need of that particular badge. For example, if you still need Platinum Tight Squeeze for 20+ of your heroes but have all other E7 slots filled on your heroes, the game counts that as one needed E7 badge, not 20+.
As potentially useful as Badge Booster Crates are, they’re also frustratingly complicated and finicky; this wasn’t as serious an issue when we were getting a fairly generous supply over the previous months, but with the drastic reductions in supply starting this month, I really wish PerBlue would remove some of the more bothersome rules and make it easier to get good badges out of them.
