Unexpected really.

I had a hard time choosing between Frozen II and Turning Red, but Inside Out is seriously much better than Coco.

Frozen will face Inside Out in the semi-finals!

Time for a bit of awards before we go into the semi-finals:

Best Continuation: Incredibles 2

Being the only continuation (sequel or prequel) to reach the quarter-finals, Incredibles 2 wins the Best Continuation. The film picks up where the previous left off and follows the Incredibles as they try to restore public trust in superheroes while balancing their family life, and combat a new supervillain who seeks to tarnish the reputation of the supers.

Best Film That Has Not Been Introduced in DHBM: Encanto

Being the only film that does not have any heroes in DHBM as of 2022 and reach the knockouts, Encanto wins the Best Film That Has Not Been Introduced in Disney Heroes: Battle Mode. The Best Animated Feature in the 94th Academy Awards revolves around a multigenerational Colombian family (the Madrigals) whose children and grandchildren (with the exception of the main character Mirabel) are gifted with magic that helps them serve the people in their rural community called the Encanto. However, Mirabel soon may be the Madrigals last hope when she discovers that the family is losing their magic.

Just a teaser about what the next two elimination games will be:

The next elimination game will be Best Newcomer 2022. As the name implies, the new heroes that have been introduced in 2022 will battle it out to be the best new hero in 2022. There are 27 heroes that have been introduced last year so the game will be quite different: Before the main game two qualification stages to determine which heroes get to the main game, one to determine the final qualification round heroes and one round-robin group match between the four QS3 winners to go to the main game. 16 heroes will then play the main game, with four round-robin groups, and two heroes from each group will advance to the knockouts. I plan to begin this elimination game between end-January to early February.

Following that is the Best Battle Friends Forever 2022, where the heroes that have friendship campaigns with the new heroes battle. 48 heroes in total - 12 round-robin groups, two heroes from each group and eight third-placed heroes will go to the knockouts.

Frozen is into the finals!

Welcome to the penultimate round, the third-place play-off! The two losers of the semi-finals (Tangled and Inside Out) will battle it out for the third-best film of the Diamond Era.

Tangled started out in Group B in the group stage, along with Brave, Zootopia and Raya and the Last Dragon. Having won two out of three group stages (losing to Zootopia by one vote in the second group stage), the film entered the knockouts as the runners-up, meeting three Best Animated Features along the way. Tangled managed to pull off upset wins over Up and Encanto, but are unable to defeat Big Hero 6.

Inside Out were the favorites to win, having won every round prior to the semis. Emotions were running high as the film defeated a fellow Best Animated Feature, and two under-the-sea stories in the group stage. The 2015 Best Animated Feature went on to the knockouts, where they beat another Best Animated Feature, Coco, and prevented Turning Red from making another surprise victory, but Frozen proved to be a tough fight for the Group F winners and so Inside Out had to settle for the third-place play-off.

Which film will go home as the third-best animated feature of the Diamond Era? Vote for the better film!

3rd place goes to...

Tangled is the third-best Diamond Era animated feature. They also win the Best Film from the Yellow Team.

Tangled is based on the German fairy tale Rapunzel by the Brothers Grimm. It tells the story of Rapunzel, who has long, magical hair who wishes to leave her tower, and accepts the aid of a handsome thief, Flynn Rider, to take her out into a world she has never seen.

As the only Pixar film to reach the final four, Inside Out wins the Best Pixar film. The film follows the Emotions in Riley’s mind: Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger as they navigate Riley’s life. Riley and her parents move from Minnesota to San Francisco, and try to adjust to the new surroundings. On Riley’s first day at her new school, Joy and Sadness are accidentally sucked out of Headquarters, and the two have to find a way back while Anger, Disgust and Fear try their best at taking control of Riley.

This is it guys - the final round to determine the best Disney animated feature of the Diamond Era, with the winners of the semi-finals competing.

Frozen, the runners-up of Group C (the group that are all Best Animated Features), won two out of three group stages, easily trouncing WALL-E and Toy Story 4 while losing to Encanto. They later progressed to the knockouts, where they beat three Group Stage winners - Bolt (Group D), Zootopia (Group B) and Inside Out (Group F), sending the 2013 Best Animated Feature to the finals where they meet another group stage winner.

Big Hero 6 are the favorites to win, and is the only film in the game to have been unbeaten prior to the finals. Along with Coco, the 2014 Best Animated Feature progressed to the knockouts in just two rounds. Following their victory over their fellow Best Animated Feature, the Group E winners next meet another two Pixar films, followed by Tangled, beating them every round to reach the finals.

Which film will prove to be the best animated feature of the Diamond Era? Vote for the best film!
