Zelkiiro's List of Character Refresh Concepts Hooray!

Belle could quite literally do normal damage with active and be kind of fine lol

New Refresh Concept: Kida

Kida just straight-up doesn’t work, and I blame that on a lot of redundancy in her kit. She feels bare-bones, and even pumping up her numbers won’t really save her. Guess what, boys and girls–it’s rework time!

The Refresh

Base Stats

  • Basic damage increased by 125%
  • Skill power increased by 75%
  • HP increased by 125%
  • Base attack speed increased by 20%
  • Base movement speed increased by 25%

Skills

:white_circle: White Skill - Crystal Heal

  • Increased heal amount by 250%
  • Damage increased by 150%
  • Duration reduced to 8 seconds
  • Kida is now Invincible while in Crystal Form, instead of raising Armor
  • New effect: Kida heals for 100% of the Fantastic damage dealt
  • New effect: Kida gains Attack Speed for the duration
  • New effect: This ability can only be used below 35% HP

"Kida assumes a Crystal Form, instantly healing herself for X HP. Kida becomes Invincible and she deals X bonus Fantastic damage with each basic attack for 8 seconds, healing for 100% of this bonus damage dealt. Kida can only enter Crystal Form while below 35% HP.

While in Crystal Form, Kida’s Attack Speed is increased by 100% and she cannot use any other abilities."

:green_circle: Green Skill - Spear Block

  • Entirely reworked and combined with the old effects of Skillful Swipe
  • Spear Block healing increased by 200%
  • Skillful Swipe damage increased by 125%

Kida also passively gains X Armor."

:large_blue_circle: Blue Skill - Skillful Swipe

  • Entirely new effect

“Every 11 seconds, Kida readies herself to go all out, granting herself Reflect and causing her basic attacks to steal 100 Energy from affected enemies for 6 seconds.”

:purple_circle: Purple Skill - Hard as Crystal

  • Energy pulse now occurs every 3 seconds
  • New effect: Kida deals increased damage at maximum Energy

"Kida and her allies gain 150 Energy every 3 seconds. When Kida has 1000 Energy or more and is not in Crystal Form, her basic attacks also deal 10% of the affected enemies’ maximum HP in True damage.

The amount of energy gained is less effective on allies above level X."

:red_circle: Red Skill - Mask of the Warrior

  • Effects combined, just like the abilities they boost
  • Spear Block basic attack bonus can now stack
  • Skillful Swipe Reality removal increased by 50%
  • New effect: Kida’s critical hits reduce the cooldowns of Spear Block and Skillful Swipe by 1 second
  • Bonus maximum HP increased by 50%
  • Bonus Basic Damage increased by 100%

"Spear Block deals X increased damage and now also removes X Reality, and Kida gains X Basic Damage for the rest of the wave each time it activates.

Could you make a concept for Hook next? It bugs me that his pirate ship doesn’t get to be used in his moveset.

That’s not what refreshes are about

Refreshes buff a character’s skillset not make completely new skills with completely new animations

Not to mention Hook’s ship isn’t very important to his character–it’s just a ship like any other.

The Black Pearl is featured in Jack Sparrow’s skillset because it’s an integral part of his character in what the Peal represents for him–freedom and wanderlust.

Hook’s ship is merely a tool. Jack’s ship is an ideal and a symbol.

New Refresh Concept: Captain Hook

Speaking of Captain Hook, however, he could use some help, as well. Sap and Study are his only real tricks, and that won’t cut it for a Control hero in these trying times. He just needs some beefier numbers and some pizzazz added to his skills, and voila! This maniacal pirate will be terrorizing the seas once more!

The Refresh

General

  • Captain Hook’s badges have been adjusted to give him 80% Evasion at most Red and Yellow ranks.

Base Stats

  • Basic damage increased by 150%
  • Skill power increased by 100%
  • HP increased by 125%
  • Base attack speed increased by 20%
  • Base movement speed increased by 25%

Skills

:white_circle: White Skill - Cold Steel

  • Increased damage by 100%
  • Relocated effect: Now innately blocks projectiles

"Captain Hook begins to duel with enemies, becoming Invincible while this ability is channeled. While dueling, Hook will dodge each attack and Counter, dealing X damage to nearby enemies each time he counterattacks.

Hook also blocks all enemy projectiles while this ability is being channeled."

:green_circle: Green Skill - Hooked

  • Increased damage by 150%
  • Now hits all nearby enemies
  • Initial cooldown reduced by 1 second
  • New effect: Knocks back and Snares affected enemies

"Captain Hook swipes at nearby enemies with his hook, dealing X damage, Sapping them for 13 seconds, knocking them back, and Snaring them for 8 seconds.

The Snare has a chance to fail against enemies above level X."

:large_blue_circle: Blue Skill - Map Study

  • Reduced cooldown by 3 seconds
  • New effect: Now increases Captain Hook’s Attack Speed
  • New effect: Removes all active buffs from select enemies

"Captain Hook Studies all enemies for 11 seconds and reduces their Armor by X for 11 seconds. The nearest 3 enemies also have all of their active buffs removed.

Captain Hook gains 75% Attack Speed while any enemy is Studied.

The Study has a chance to fail against enemies above level X."

:purple_circle: Purple Skill - A Pirate’s Life

  • Now steals the Energy gained from Studied enemies
  • New effect: Enemies Hook steals Energy from are Stunned

"Whenever Captain Hook damages a Studied enemy, he steals 100 Energy from them and Stuns them for 4 seconds.

The amount of Energy stolen is reduced against enemies above level X."

:red_circle: Red Skill - Pirate Parry

  • Removed old Hooked effect, since it is now redundant
  • Basic Damage and Armor removal increased by 300%
  • New effect: Debuffs and disables applied to Studied enemies last 100% longer

And now everybody’s numbers have been tweaked to keep proper badge levels and Red Skills in mind. I’m sure there’s probably other math fixes I could make, but that’s beyond my fairly casual scope.

So now, if you see any number boost over 200%, then you can be absolutely certain that the scaling for that stat or ability was completely and utterly garbage before I came along.

And just in case anyone is curious, all my Refreshes up to this point have been comparing these heroes with currently pretty strong heroes of their respective roles, at least in terms of numbers–Tanks were all compared to Fred, Damage were all compared to Ron or Zeus, Support were all compared to Flik or Bagheera, and Control were all compared to Mr. Big or Kaa.

New Refresh Concept: Megavolt

This wacky Pikachu clone stands no chance in today’s world, and that’s a shame, because I like his kit. We’re gonna spice things up and let this electric rat do what he does best–collect light bulbs, er, I mean…the other thing!

The Refresh

  • Basic Damage increased by 100%
  • Skill Power increased by 75%
  • HP increased by 125%

Skills

:green_circle: Green Skill - Shocking Strike

  • Increased damage by 100%
  • Initial cooldown reduced by 2 seconds and total cooldown reduced by 4 seconds
  • New effect: Affected enemies have 3 random buffs removed

  • Boosted Stun duration increased to 13 seconds
  • Cooldown reduced by 4 seconds

"Megavolt fires an arc of lightning at the enemy with the most Energy, dealing X damage to them and other nearby enemies and Stunning affected enemies for 7 seconds.

  • New effect: Each stack of Charged on the battlefield grants Megavolt 10% Tenacity
  • Increased boost per Charge stack to 30%, to a maximum of 300%

Nice but Megavolt came before Pikachu in 1991
But still it just noting and this was good arefresh idea

That’s the joke. :V

Megavolt’s white skill actually hits multiple enemies (I seem all of them) per stack. Which means that the fatigue you put on the Zurg disk would be a pretty insane amount (90 stacks on everyone just after the green skill…)

It shooooouuuuuuld just apply the Fatigue to the main bounce target, I’d say? The logistics of programming it are officially not my problem! O:

Wha
When was he a Pikachu Clone

Pokemon features a lot of electric rodents unflatteringly known as “Pikachu clones,” and because Megavolt is an electric rat, a lot of fans joke that he’s among the so-called Pikachu clones, even though the joke is that it’s literally impossible for him to be a clone of a character who was conceived 5 years after he was. It’s an irony thing.

New Refresh Concept: Gonzo

This daring Muppet is playing a very dangerous game these days. With such insignificantly small stats and numbers, Gonzo gets taken out almost immediately as soon as he shows his face in battle anymore. Let’s get these numbers pumped up, and perhaps throw some more bells and whistles into his kit for good measure, and let this bizarre showman wow the crowds once more!

The Refresh

General

  • Gonzo’s badges have been adjusted to give him 85% Fantastic Crit and 55% Crit Damage at most Red and Yellow ranks.

Base Stats

  • Basic Damage increased by 250%
  • Skill Power increased by 200%
  • HP increased by 200%

Skills

:white_circle: White Skill - Chicken Run

  • Increased total damage by 350%
  • The damage is now divided according to the amount of chickens present, which by default is 4 chickens
  • Stun duration increased to 8 seconds
  • New effect: Gonzo’s basic attacks hit an additional time per 15% HP he’s missing

"Passive: Gonzo’s basic attack hits all enemies, and sends an additional chicken for another hit for every 15% HP he’s missing.

Gonzo incites 4 hypnotized chickens to stampede, each dealing X damage to all enemies and Stunning them for 8 seconds."

:green_circle: Green Skill - My Next Act

  • Increased damage by 200%
  • Now also hits enemies that are also untargetable due to their entrances
  • Now hits all enemies a second time for the same damage upon landing

“Gonzo cannonballs into each wave of combat, hitting all enemies for X damage before landing to deal X damage to all enemies once again. This attack will also hit enemies that are invulnerable during their entrance animations.”

:large_blue_circle: Blue Skill - Raise the Stakes

  • Completely reworked

"Gonzo gains a stack of Hardy for each chicken summoned during Chicken Run. Each stack of Hardy removed from Gonzo causes an additional chicken to be summoned with his next use of Chicken Run.

The Hardy application has a chance to fail above level X."

:purple_circle: Purple Skill - Gonzo the Great

  • Increased damage reduction by 50%
  • New effect: Gonzo also deals 2% increased damage per 1% HP he’s missing

"Gonzo takes 0.75% reduced damage and deals 2% increased damage for every 1% HP he’s currently missing.

This effect is reduced against enemies above level X."

:red_circle: Red Skill - Talent Search

  • Increased heal per second by 150% and now triggers when Gonzo has Hardy stacks
  • All of Gonzo’s basic attacks now Stun the Most Wanted enemy, instead of every 3rd attack
  • Level requirement removed from the Stun
  • Bonus maximum HP increased by 75%

"While Gonzo has Hardy stacks from Raise the Stakes, he is healed for X HP every second.

Additionally, Gonzo’s basic attacks Stun the Most Wanted enemy for 4 seconds. The Most Wanted enemy is the enemy that has dealt the most damage."

  • Current Star Effect: Removed

Is is possible for the devs to do that

I’m sure it is. It’s likely just a matter of doing calculations on their compu-trons and going into the badge list in his data to swap as needed.

Possible, rather yes.

But devs say they never will change existing badges, once done it will never be changed. If anything, future ranks can be adjusted.

I am APPALLED you haven’t considered Ralph yet.

His stats are weak compared to most tanks, to the point where even non-tanks have more health and armor than he does at maximum level.

His kit is weak, and only consists of stuns and silences for offense, which don’t even stick for that long.

His disks are laughably useless and barely help him at all since he’s taking all the damage for everyone else, and only focus on his weak stuns.

And the only good defense he has is a regenerative heal that will most likely get shredded faster than getting back to full health because most meta damage heroes now do more damage than he can heal TOTAL.

Ralph is BEGGING for a heavy refresh or even a REWORK to make him even usable at all.

I mean, they’re literally never going to do a Refresh for Ralph (or Vanellope, Elastigirl, or Frozone), so there’s not really a point in making one.

And when I say they’re literally never going to do it, I’m not being hyperbolic–the devs have outright said so.
