The Refresh

Base Stats

  • Basic Damage increased by 100%
  • Skill Power increased by 75%
  • HP increased by 100%

Skills

:white_circle: White Skill - Megabot Call

  • Megabot basic attack damage increased by 200%
  • New effect: Megabot cannot take more than 10% of its maximum HP in a single hit
  • New effect: If Hiro uses this ability while Megabot is already active, Megabot is healed, immediately uses Megabot Spin, deals 50% increased damage with it, and Stuns affected enemies for 5 seconds

"Hiro summons his toy robot, Megabot, to fight for him. Megabot has X HP and deals X damage with its basic attacks, and it cannot take more than 10% of its maximum HP in a single hit. Shields placed on Megabot do not benefit from this damage reduction.

When first summoned, Megabot will Stun nearby enemies for 5 seconds when it lands.

If Hiro uses this ability while Megabot is already active, Megabot is healed to full HP and immediately uses Megabot Spin, if it’s available. This use of Megabot Spin deals 50% increased damage and Stuns affected enemies for 5 seconds.

Hiro can only have one Megabot active at any time."

Megabot can perform this attack every 5 seconds."

  • Increased damage by 120%
  • Skill Power bonus increased by 50% each time it activates
  • This ability now hits all enemies in an area
  • Initial cooldown reduced by 1.5 seconds and total cooldown reduced by 3 seconds

"Hiro summons a microbot pillar to strike the furthest enemy, dealing X damage to them and other nearby enemies and Stunning them for 6 seconds.

Each time Hiro or the Megabot Stuns an enemy, Hiro gains X Skill Power for the rest of the wave."

  • Energy gain increased to 50
  • New effect: Megabot gains basic attack damage each time it dodges an attack

"Hiro and his Megabot have a 30% chance to dodge all attacks.

When Hiro dodges an attack, he gains 50 Energy.

When Megabot dodges an attack, it gains X basic attack damage.

These effects are reduced against enemies above level X."

  • Basic Attack stat bonus also granted to Hiro

"Hiro and his Megabot have a 90% chance to dodge attacks from Invisible enemies. When Hiro or Megabot dodge an attack, the remaining cooldown on Microbot Stun is reduced by 3 seconds.

The increased dodge chance is reduced against Invisible enemies above level X."

  • Current Level Effect: Megabot Shield HP increased by 5000%
  • Added Level Effect: +X Armor
  • Current Star Effect: Increased starting Energy to 200 (+200 per additional star).

Disk #2 - Darkwing Duck

  • Added Level Effect: +X Basic Damage
  • Current Star Effect: Reworked
  • New Star Effect: The Stun from Megabot Stun now lasts 0.8 (+0.8 per additional star) seconds longer.

Lol I’m so torn here though

On one side I’d love it, and this refresh would be perfect

But on the other he’s already really strong

I just wanna say I legit had this skill do over 2 billion to an area in a single hit before, so yeah not weak and 120% more would be wild :joy:

New Refresh Concept: Hector Barbossa

Barbossa is currently only used for the instant Study on his Tia Dalma disk. Which is a nice effect and all, but surely the unit attached to that effect doesn’t have to be utter garbage, right? This auto-attacking terror of the seas can be so, so much more with a few tweaks here and there.


The Refresh

Base Stats

  • Basic Damage increased by 150%
  • Skill Power increased by 75%
  • HP increased by 100%
  • Base attack speed increased by 20%

Skills

:white_circle: White Skill - Scan the Horizon

  • Increased Study duration to 12 seconds and Studies all enemies no matter what
  • Increased Attack Speed duration to 12 seconds
  • New effect: Barbossa gains a 60% chance to dodge all debuffs from Studied enemies

"Barbossa pulls out his spyglass and scans the enemy team. Enemies are Studied for 12 seconds, and Barbossa’s Attack Speed is increased by 400% for 12 seconds. This Study bypasses all passive effects that would prevent its application.

Barbossa has a 60% chance to dodge all debuffs applied by Studied enemies.

The Study has a chance to fail against enemies above level X."

  • Increased healing by 350%
  • Increased Energy gain to 400
  • Cooldown reduced by 2 seconds
  • New effect: Barbossa cannot be Flinched for 5 seconds after using this ability

“Barbossa eats an apple, healing himself for X HP and gaining 400 Energy. For 5 seconds after using this ability, Barbossa cannot be Flinched.”

:large_blue_circle: Blue Skill - Chain Shot

  • Reworked

"Once every 10 seconds, Barbossa’s basic attack launches a ball-and-chain that hits the enemy and their two closest allies, dealing X Fantastic damage in addition to the normal basic attack damage to all three targets.

The ball-and-chain remains attached to the targets for 8 seconds, causing Barbossa’s basic attacks and Hot Shot effects to hit all three targets and Slow them by 90% for 2 seconds.

The Slow is reduced against enemies above level X."

  • Increased damage by 100%
  • This effect no longer counts as a debuff, and thus will not be negated by Hardy or immunity

“The cannonballs from Barbossa’s basic attacks are now heated, dealing an additional X damage over 3 seconds to the target.”

:red_circle: Red Skill - Unquenchable Appetite

  • Apple of Me Eye effect now also Cleanses Barbossa

"Apple of Me Eye now also Cleanses Barbossa and grants him 5 stacks of Hardy

Damage over time effects from Barbossa or his allies deal 75% additional damage to Studied enemies.

The bonus damage over time damage is reduced on enemies above level X."

Disk #1 - Tia Dalma

  • Current Level Effect: Basic Damage bonus increased by 1700%
  • Added Level Effect: +X healing to Apple of Me Eye
  • Current Star Effect: Study duration increased to 3 (+3 per additional star) seconds.

Disk #2 - Stitch

  • Current Level Effect: Skill Power bonus increased by 200% and now applies to Barbossa and allies
  • Added Level Effect: +X Armor
  • Current Star Effect: Reworked
  • New Star Effect: Chain Shot targets are now Cursed for the duration, reducing all healing received by 50% (+5% per additional star).
  • New Star Effect: The Slow from Chain Shot lasts 1 (+0.5 per additional star) seconds longer.

New Refresh Concept: The Horned King

Oof. Big, big oof. The Horned King is easily the worst hero release since Sarah Sanderson, who herself may have been the worst hero release in the game’s history. Nearly everything about him is wrong. His entire kit depends on soldiers that he may never even be able to summon–at least Billy has the courtesy to be on the field from the start of battle! We’re gonna get our hands dirty and make this terrifying tyrant the bone-chilling monster we all wanted him to be!


The Refresh

Base Stats

  • Basic Damage increased by 30%
  • HP increased by 25%

Skills

:white_circle: White Skill - Cauldron Born

  • Increased soldiers’ HP by 150%
  • This ability now summons 2 Cauldron Born when activated
  • New effect: The Horned King starts each wave with 1 Cauldron Born summoned
  • New effect: The Cauldron Born cannot take more than 15% of their maximum HP in damage per hit

"The Horned King summons two Cauldron Born soldiers from the Black Cauldron. Each soldier has X HP, X Reality, and X Armor. Each soldier deals X Fantastic Damage with their Basic Attacks. Cauldron Born soldiers cannot take more than 15% of their maximum HP in damage in a single hit.

The Horned King can have up to 5 soldiers at a time. If the Horned King uses this Skill while he has the maximum amount of soldiers, he grants the soldier with the lowest HP 25% more maximum HP and fully heals it.

The Horned King starts each wave with 1 soldier already summoned. Cauldron Born soldiers count as allies and target the closest enemy to them when they spawn."

  • Scare duration increased to 12 seconds
  • Initial cooldown reduced by 1 second
  • New effect: Also Slows all enemies by 55%
  • New effect: The Horned King gains Reality Negation per Scared enemy
  • New effect: Increases the Attack Speed of Cauldron Born soldiers by 55%

"The Horned King cackles, applying 5 stacks of Fatigue to all enemies. This also Slows all enemies by 55% and Scares them for 12 seconds.

The Horned King gains 15% Reality Negation for each enemy Scared by this ability.

The Cauldron Born soldiers have their Attack Speeds increased by 55% while any enemy is Scared by this ability.

The Fatigue has a chance to fail against enemies above level X."

:large_blue_circle: Blue Skill - Arise!

  • Now heals all allies, granting 100% more healing per Cauldron Born
  • New effect: Cauldron Born soldiers become Berserk for 5 seconds

"Green mist emerges from the Black Cauldron, healing all allies for X HP. The Horned King and his allies then deal X bonus Fantastic damage with their basic attacks for 8 seconds. This ability’s healing is increased by 100% for each Cauldron Born soldier on the field.

The Cauldron Born also become Berserk for 5 seconds after this ability is used."

:purple_circle: Purple Skill - Dark and Powerful

  • Bonus damage now stacks per ally, not just per soldier
  • New effect: When the Horned King is reduced to 0 HP, he consumes his soldiers to become Invincible and heal to max HP before summoning 3 more soldiers

"Cauldron Born soldiers deal X bonus Fantastic damage with their basic attacks for every ally they have on the battlefield.

When the Horned King is reduced to 0 HP, any summoned Cauldron Born are eliminated and the Horned King is restored to full HP, becoming Invincible for 4 seconds. Once he is healed, the Horned King summons 3 Cauldron Born soldiers. This effect can only trigger once per wave."

:red_circle: Red Skill - Thirst for Evil

  • Reworked

"Whenever the Horned King or his Cauldron Born soldiers would crit a Scared enemy, they super crit them instead. The Horned King and his soldiers heal for X HP each time they super crit an enemy.

Each time an enemy is KO’d, the Horned King raises a Cauldron Born soldier. Soldiers summoned in this way do not count toward the 5 soldier limit."


Friend Campaign Disks

Disk #1 - Shan Yu

  • Current Level Effect: Bonus healing increased by 400%
  • Added Level Effect: +X Basic Damage
  • Current Star Effect: Effect is now triggered with every Cauldron Born basic attack

Disk #2 - Disgust

  • Current Star Effect: Removed limit on how often Energy gain can be triggered

Oh definitely, I was so happy to have him added as The Black Cauldron is a hidden gem and this representation was needed… but PB just made him really meh.

His skill power from Disgust is even half of what heroes usually now get, Kaa and Voyd has doubled amount for themselves and all allies!

You definitely gave the Horned King justice with that refresh! Think for a hero refresh, could you do Mushu or Frozone?

Honestly summon style characters just don’t seem like a great fit for this game anyway.

Bunsen is very meh… even bad nowadays, they only use is to counter hard study teams, which are dead anyways.

New Refresh Concept: Donald Duck

Debuffs are aplenty these days, and some folks are desperately turning to good ol’ Donald Duck to help deal with them…and realizing that this is a terrible idea, because Donald is…let’s be kind and say “absolutely terrible.” But the potential is there! He just needs to have his abilities receive a swift kick in the pants, to update their utility for the modern day, and he’ll be a solid option to help mitigate those pesky debuffs, just like we need him to be!


The Refresh

General

  • Donald now has an indicator icon to show how many debuffs he is able to absorb.

Base Stats

  • Basic Damage increased by 200%
  • Skill Power increased by 125%
  • HP increased by 100%

Skills

:white_circle: White Skill - Fly Into a Rage

  • Increased damage by 175%
  • This attack now deals Normal damage
  • This attack now hits all enemies in melee range
  • New effect: Donald will target the enemy with the lowest current HP
  • New effect: Enemies hit by this ability will have the duration of all their debuffs increased by 8 seconds, including those added by Short Tempered

“Donald jumps to the enemy with the lowest current HP in a rage, dealing X damage to them and other nearby enemies and increasing the duration of all their debuffs by 8 seconds.”

:green_circle: Green Skill - Hopping Mad

  • Increased damage by 300%
  • Now hits all enemies
  • Initial cooldown reduced by 1 second
  • Blind duration increased to 10 seconds
  • New effect: Donald steals 1 random buff from each affected enemy

“Donald throws a tantrum, dealing X damage to all enemies and Blinding them for 10 seconds. Donald steals 1 random buff from each affected enemy that lasts for 7 seconds.”

:large_blue_circle: Blue Skill - Ruffled Feathers

  • Increased healing by 50%
  • Can now trigger three times per wave
  • Duration reduced to 6 seconds, potency unchanged
  • New effect: Donald gains Skill Power for each buff he gains while healing

"When Donald is reduced below 50% of his maximum HP, he heals for X HP and gains 400 Energy over 6 seconds. While this effect is active, Donald gains X Skill Power for the rest of the wave each time he receives a buff.

This ability can be triggered three times per wave."

  • Now also benefits Donald himself
  • Donald can now absorb 5 debuffs every 5 seconds
  • Debuffs can be applied with Fly Into a Rage or Hopping Mad
  • Debuffs are now applied to all enemies

"Whenever Donald or an ally is debuffed, Donald can store the debuff without it affecting him. He can store up to 5 debuffs in this way every 5 seconds, applying the stored debuffs to all enemies when he uses Fly Into a Rage or Hopping Mad.

Storing debuffs has a chance to fail with debuffs applied by enemies above level X."

  • Energy gain increased to 120
  • Increased healing by 150%
  • New effect: Donald’s Attack Speed is permanently increased by 10% each time he stores a debuff

"Donald gains 120 Energy when he stores a debuff with Short Tempered, and when he fails to store a debuff, the debuffed ally is healed for X HP.

In addition, each time Donald stores a debuff, his Attack Speed is increased by 10% for the rest of the wave.

Energy gain is reduced against enemies above level X."

  • Current Level Effect: Increased Basic Damage bonus by 100%
  • Added Level Effect: Hopping Mad deals an additional X Fantastic damage over 8 seconds

Disk #2 - Scrooge McDuck

  • Current Level Effect: Increased Basic Damage bonus by 100% and now applies to Donald and all allies
  • Added Level Effect: +X Skill Power

I don’t think Frozone would ever even be eligible for a Refresh, since he’s a starter hero.

As for Mushu, a full-on Refresh is probably not necessary–his skills are good, it would just be a numbers fix for him. He literally just needs his numbers to be better, and then he’d be better.

It was always strange to me that they changed Donalds role to control when the majority of his moveset is damage based.

They aren’t, his damage always was lower, purple made him control, just like Finnick.
but in both cases, it’s really poor control.

New Refresh Concept: Goofy

The fact that Goofy isn’t top-tier is a crime. All it would take are some small changes to make him the dancing god he was always meant to be. Unleash the Goof!

  • Groovy stacks now consumed by Bust a Move
  • New effect: Goofy steals Basic Damage from enemies hit by Two Left Feet

"While under the effects of Bust a Move, Goofy’s basic attacks grant him 1 stack of Groovy.

When Goofy uses Bust a Move, he consumes his stacks of Groovy to heal for X HP per stack.

Also, when Goofy uses Two Left Feet, he removes X Basic Damage from affected enemies and gives it to himself for 6 seconds."

  • Reworked

"Whenever Goofy uses Bust a Move, the remaining cooldown of Two Left Feet is reduced to 0.

Bust a Move now grants Goofy’s allies X Skill Power for each stack of Groovy consumed for 8 seconds.

Goofy is now immune to all disables.

The disable immunity has a chance to fail against enemies above level X."
