In the recent patch they made Zeus semi slower so other initial skills can go off, well that’s semi fixed Zeus but his energy gain is so high that he gets another full white bar before you can kill him and he instead wipes you out then. For all intents and purposes it’s a 1 shot kill and anytime a hero has that power they have always been nerfed by perblue in a reasonable time due to unfairness of rng on who’s Zeus pops first. So please @Loutre can you have the team look farther into zeus
The team did change his disk to become active after buff had been applied by teams, so that means reflect should be applied before Zeus ignites his white skills.
Reflect can actually kills Zeus, so it is not that he is without counters

Red skill makes Zeus’s white skill very spam-able, he steals tons of energy per second and once he starts there’s nothing that can stop him…
@Loutre his energy steal should be reduced to 25-30 per second from his red skill
Zeus seems fine to me, even if he is very rock-paper-scissors now. For example, Ian’s reflect kills him but Fairy Godmother or Sisu can negate most of the reflect damage so that he lives, but adding Meg to Ian means that Zeus still takes enough damage to die…but if Zeus instead uses Tron, he can eliminate Ian’s reflect to begin with…unless Ian uses Joy (with her red skill) to stop Tron.
Zeus has counters and counters of his counters and counters of the counters of his counters. Seems fair.
Yeah, you just have to have counters for their counters which they can counter unless you counter their counters, and by then both teams are nothing but counters.

I think he’s alright, but like you said, he needs counters. Being in every surge tile makes it hard to do anything without raiding because you can only use your counters once and then hope that someone posted them as a merc as well.
Zeus isn’t the only toon that can k.o. A team in seconds.
I think the bigger problem is that these teams are in too many surge districts. It’s becoming difficult to create zeus counters for almost every attack.
As far as using tron against reflect. tron doesn’t get his white off fast enough to keep it from k.o.ing Zeus. (I’m not sure if multiple attack speed mods would do the trick. I only have one).
Zeus seems fine as is, he got counters etc like everyone else saying.
But u know what does need a nerf… badge battle upgrades and yellow badges overall costs… if only there some kind of game feature that helped guilds with it? Feel like it’s been years since that feature was touched… what’s it called again?..

The game has a lot of counters for Zeus. You can kill him with the help of Jessie, Shego, Mary, reflect, heroes who have a high reality, in the end with your own Zeus and a bunch of other methods. It’s more of a question of how much you understand the mechanics of the game and know how to make combos. There are no undefeated heroes in the game. In my opinion, the point of the game is not to kill easily with any character, but to come up with tactics to win. If everyone is weak then what is the fun of the game?
I must admit the game is different now then it was when toons like Boggs, max, Cheshire Cat and a couple others we’re released. Boggs being the worst case (based on time of release). The tools where not there with toons to counter META toons.
Once upon a time there was not real counter for the goofy blind team or the hades DOT study team. The tools were not there to counter these META teams.
If you can maintain a rounded set of toons then it’s just a matter of finding the combination that works best for the scenario.
I have a very well-rounded roster of almost 30 heroes at Y10, and was unable to reach Challenger 1 Arena in either of the last 2 seasons for the sole reason that I chose not to upgrade Zeus or Mary.
Any hero that can wipe out 165 out of 170 heroes in the first second of battle is not reasonable.
Especially last season, the rules were made to favour Zeus (as Challenger rules are almost always focussed on 1 hero), so that might be in the way. This season damage heroes in general were favoured.
Zeus is meta right now, I can agree on that, but as with all meta heroes, he will eventually gain worse badges, less crit options and fade to the background. Seen it with quite a few heroes: D&B, Chesire Cat, Mulan and there are probably much more examples.
Actually, to counter Zeus, you just need Mary with LSB disc. It is actually not too hard. I have that disc with Mary and LSB at Red0. You just need to finish chap 1, that’s all
Yes but issue is zeus steals so much energy before he pops off again, before any one on your team can kill him
Issue with surge is that it steals teams from surprise surprise arena and coliseum teams and guess who runs rampant in arena and coli Zeus/angel/meg/ian/Mary so unless they change algorithm for surge and city watch not much will change
I agree with Yunno, you only need R0 Mary with disc to stop Zeus in arena or reflect from start. If you don’t like sap you can use heroes that block debuffs and give you energy. About surge. I think problem is not Zeus but difficulty of surge, you need nerf it, not a hero.
But unless Zeus is pair with Mad Hatter we can’t hex him anymore

there’s a difference, though, between knowing how, and being able to… and battle after battle after battle
just because a hero can be countered doesn’t really exclude them from being too powerful or having an ability that is too strong
Yeah, this is particularly a problem in Creep Surge, when most days see 9 or 10 of the top 14 districts with Zeus(Ha), Ian, or both; there’s only so many counters to go around, so that makes it a lot harder to clear waves, as well as frustrating players and reducing participation.
Of course, that issue could be addressed without nerfing the heroes in question, simply by limiting each hero to one appearance per region.
