A Guide to the DHBM Storyline

That’d be a lot of info to unpack in the last chapter!

That will be a nightmare for me.

Imagine how much stuff you would have to write then if that happens

Yeah, I have to write 20 more chapters. :pensive:

Well tell your hand to get ready. There’s a whole lot more typing about the storyline in your future!

CHAPTER 8 - Stage Line

The team tries to find a quiet spot for Yax to analyze the data packs. When the team found Yax’s perfect spot, he’s started to meditate right away.

Yax: OHHHMMMMMMM……
Frozone: What in the greater good is Yax doing?
Vanellope: He said meditation helps him “visualise the code”….
Ralph: Does that actually work?
Vanellope: How should I know? Ask the big fuzzy flycatcher over there.

The team waited for him to finish, but meditation makes Yax hungry, so the team heads to his favorite pasta place. When they were close to the restaurant, they didn’t expected of what’s in front of them. Tony’s has been taken over by creeps! They just crushed the creeps without thinking why they were at the restaurant. Tony was relieved to see that his restaurant is now creep-free. Tony makes his famous spaghetti to thank the heroes. The team, especially Yax, were happy eating at that moment. Full and happy, the heroes plan their next move.

Yax: I’m tellin’ ya, Tony makes the best organic pasta around. I feel like a new yak.
Elastigirl: Now that you’ve eaten, do you have any new insights?
Well, I think if we can find one more data pack, I can probably piece this gnarly code together.
Ralph: Great. Where are we gonna find another data pack?
Finnick: Yo Yax, isn’t this close to where you and I were pulled into this whacked-out place?

Yax remembers the exact block where he and his friends arrived in the city, so he volunteered to lead the team along the way. The team heads towards the fashion district, following Yax’s directions. It doesn’t take long before more creeps find the team. Frozone wonders why the foes here are so different from the super villains he’s faced in the past. The rest of the team speculates why robots, ninjas, and mages would be in the city. As they fight those creeps, Vanellope stops in her tracks. It looks like she has an idea.

Vanellope: Hey, Ralph, remember that BETA key?
Ralph: Yeah. Why?
Vanellope: Well… maybe these enemies are placeholders. You know, from other games!
Frozone: Nah… Really? You really think so?!

Ralph and Vanellope explain how games that are in BETA work to the rest of the team. As confused as the other heroes are, the Supers are still unsure. They feel like they need to gather more intel. In the middle of the discussion, Yax lets everyone know that they’re getting close to the data site. The team rounds a corner and sees the site up ahead, surrounded by creeps. Elastigirl slingshots herself across the block, kicking some creeps to the curb while Yax blasts back the creeps with his potent musk. The team reaches the data site, clearing out the final creeps guarding it. They stopped for a moment to rest, then they continued on their task.

Elastigirl: Do you think this data pack will help, Yax?
Yax: Oh yeah, just give me a second… Oh no, this isn’t good…
Frozone: What? What isn’t good?!
Yax: Well, this is kinda embarassing, but code’s infected my device.
Elastigirl: Okay, then what do we do next?
Yax: Oh, I’ll have to find another computer to debug it. Bummer, I know.

The team heads to the nearest train station to determine their next move. Finnick initiated the discussion about their next move.

Finnick: Where are we gonna find a new computer?
Elastigirl: Well, the Covered Market’s near here. They sell a bit of everything.
Frozone: Yeah, I got a guy who makes these crazy custom colognes…
Elastigirl: Let’s try and stay on task. Computers first, fragrances later.

Theory#20

Vanellope: Well… maybe these enemies are placeholders. You know, from other games!
I was thinking that The Inventor pulled those robots, ninjas, and mages from another games, then infected them with viruses to become his army.

Theory#21

Yax: Well, this is kinda embarassing, but code’s infected my device.
Thank you @TherMasterStitch for this idea!
Someone put viruses in the code on purpose then lured the team to infect their device and get stuck on their mission. Most of the players know that The Inventor has been keeping his eyes on them for a long time before revealing himself to them on Chapter 12.

Since the code corrupted Yax’s device, maybe the person that sent the heroes to the city knew they would try to escape so the person purposely made bad code.

You mean that person created the bad code to infect Yax’s device?

Well it’s just a theory. I don’t know!

It sounds good. I wanna add that to my theories. Is it okay?

CHAPTER 9 - Counter Line

The team makes their way to the Covered Market. Their eyes got wide as soon as they see the place. The market is huge! Vanellope runs ahead, eager to explore. Everyone spreads out, looking for electronics stalls. They spent quite a long time looking for a computer, but no luck for them. Frozone gets concerned. Maybe he isn’t remembering the market correctly… but someone thinks of it differently. There seem to be a lot more food stalls than Elastigirl remembers. Frozone can’t find the cologne vendor anywhere in the Market. They still searched the area but they couldn’t find what they’re looking for. Fed up, Vanellope vents her frustration on a nearby Mage. She then confronted the team after defeating the creep.

Vanellope: Face it, people. There are no computers around here.
Mr. Incredible: This is ridiculous. The last time I was here, there were at least three electronics stalls.
Elastigirl: It’s more than that. ALL the computers are gone, even the ones for exchanging credits.
Ralph: I’m startin’ to think there’s some kind of evil genius - like King Candy - behind this.
Vanellope: Yeah! Who else could manipulate the world like this?

Ralph and Vanellope exchange theories. They were trying to connect this event to that dreaded glitch. And while the two were giving each other ideas, Elastigirl gets an idea of where to find a computer.

Elastigirl: There may not be any computers here, but there’s another place where we’ve seen lots of them.
Vanellope: That’s right - the Hackerspace! Oh, and that place is really well hidden, too.

They don’t want to waste more time, so the team heads towards the nearest subway station. An overturned coffee cart blocks the path, and creeps jump right over it! But they are just in small numbers so it wasn’t really a problem for them. The heroes continue to make their way towards Market Station. Up ahead, an army of creeps is gathering near the subway entrance. The team meets the creeps in front of the subway, ready to clear them out! After some fights, they went back to their own tracks. The heroes will have to transfer trains to get from here to Midway Station. They were unaware that a creep is waiting there to ambush the team. Elastigirl kicks a creep into a pillar as she jumps onto the transfer train. The heroes head back to the striped door that leads to the Hackerspace.

Vanellope: Wait a second! Where’s the door?
Ralph: Aw man! I bet whoever messed up the Market blocked off the entry!
Mr. Incredible: There’s gotta be a way in. I’ll punch a hole in the wall if I have to.
Elastigirl: Hold on, honey. Let’s think a moment before we resort to destruction of property.

The team investigates the area, looking for clues. After extensive searching, the team manages to regroup. And while each of them do their own search, Vanellope found something.

Vanellope: Hey, Ralph! I think I found somethin’!
Ralph: What is it kid?
Vanellope: There’s some graffiti over here. It looks like a clue and the paint’s still wet!
Mr. Incredible: Graffiti? But what would a bunch of hooligans have to do with a secret Hackerspace?
Yax: Actually, it sounds like a pretty good way of conveying messages to me. Hey, Finnick, do you know what it means?
Finnick: Let me take a look. (Looks at each detail carefully) Hmm… Well, this tag means “nearby”… and this one means “bike”… or maybe “light,” and this one means “game.” Sorry, Yax. That’s all I got.
Vanellope: It’s the Midway! Dash and I play games there all the time! Last one there has to buy me tokens!!!
Ralph: Hey, kid! Wait up!

Yay! Chapter 9! Theories later.

Hmm so maybe my theory about the person purposefully infecting Yax’s device has more evidence for it now. They probably made the electronic shops disappear since they knew the heroes would try to find a new computer. Why is this person so against the heroes figuring this mystery out?

Because they are the culprit? And they do not want their identity revealed…

Haven’t you watcjed any mysteries??

I also have that in mind. The Inventor removed the computers from the Market to make them go back to Hackerspace and meet him. But… I don’t know if it’s still considered a theory since everyone knows it (well, majority at least).

What if the inventor is not behind everything?

Annd the person who is really behind it is trying to throw them off track by making them go after someone else entirely.

I’m thinking that The Inventor has a boss. I mean, there could be someone who is more powerful than him.
