A Man That No One Envies - Mr. Smee (Likely Concept)

Mr. Smee (Peter Pan)

Always just trying to help, Mr. Smee bumbles his way into battle and does what he can to make his cap’n proud!
Role: Damage
Position: Middle
Trial Team: Red

“Oh, dear dear dear, Cap’n Hook! Shooting a man in the middle of his cadenza? It ain’t good form, y’know!”

Basic Animations

Entrance: Balancing a tray of assorted items, Mr. Smee shimmies on-screen. He then trips, causing the tray to fly into the air and all of the contents shatter and break on the ground, except for a single green bottle that Mr. Smee happens to catch.

Basic Attack: Wielding his green bottle of…er, “pirate drink,” Mr. Smee uses the bottle like a club to whack enemies in melee range with a determined, stern look on his face.

Victory: Mr. Smee jumps for joy and then looks backwards, pointing eagerly at the fallen enemy team while beaming with pride.

Defeat: A look of concern washes over Mr. Smee’s face before knives and swords begin flying at him from all directions, creating a comical cartoon “cage” of swords and knives. Mr. Smee looks out through a gap and trembles in terror.

Skills

:white_circle: White Skill: Sure Shot? (:fist:)

  • Mr. Smee draws his pistol and fires at the frontmost enemy, dealing X (determined by Basic Damage) Normal damage, applying 3 stacks of Weakness to the target for 7 seconds, and knocking them back. Weakness causes the target to take 10% additional damage per stack (to a maximum of 5 stacks). Applying Weakness has a chance to fail against enemies above level X.
    – This ability deals triple damage to Studied enemies.
  • Animation: Mr. Smee reaches behind to the waistband of his shorts and pulls out a flintlock pistol, which he shakily aims before turning his head, covering his eyes with his free hand, and pulling the trigger. Mr. Smee then nervously tosses away the excessively-smoking pistol.

:green_circle: Green Skill: A Close Shave (:fist:)

  • Mr. Smee tries and fails to give an irritable enemy a nice, clean shave, Blinding the frontmost enemy for 13 seconds, dealing X (determined by Skill Power) Normal damage to them, and applying Pierce for 8 seconds. Pierced enemies take 6% of their maximum HP in True damage each time they take Normal damage. Damage over time effects can only trigger this effect once per second. The Pierce has a chance to fail against enemies above level X.
    – This ability deals double damage to Studied enemies.
  • Animation: Mr. Smee merrily pulls a container of shaving cream and a straight razor from his pockets at the same time, causing him to accidentally fumble the shaving cream container and coat the frontmost enemy in a foamy cloud, which causes him to also fumble the straight razor until it’s launched at the same enemy like a dart. Mr. Smee looks astonished and horrified before chuckling weakly and meekly.

:large_blue_circle: Blue Skill: Double Vision

  • Mr. Smee drinks the contents of his bottle, healing for X (determined by Skill Power) HP and gaining 3 stacks of Hardy. He then uses his spyglass to Study all enemies for 16 seconds. The Study has a chance to fail against enemies above level X.
    – Mr. Smee gains a permanent 25% chance to dodge all attacks and debuffs after the first use of this ability.
  • Animation: Mr. Smee lifts up the green bottle and takes a large swig of its mysterious contents. Visibly tipsy, he then pulls out a spyglass and observes the enemy team with it, backwards. Shaken by the sight of the enemy, Mr. Smee jumps in alarm, shakes his head, and sobers back up after throwing the spyglass.

:purple_circle: Purple Skill: The Ship’s Doormat

  • Once every 16 seconds, Mr. Smee dodges an attack and grants himself Vigilance for 12 seconds. While Vigilant, Mr. Smee gains 30% damage mitigation and counters enemy attacks with his Green Skill once every 4 seconds. The Vigilance has a chance to fail above level X.
  • Animation: Mr. Smee ducks to avoid the attack, to the point where his head and neck have entered his torso, leaving his hat floating in mid-air. He then pops back up and looks around frightfully.

:red_circle: Red Skill: A Loyal First Mate

  • Sure Shot? now also reduces affected enemies’ Armor by 75% for 10 seconds. This effect is reduced against enemies above level X.
  • Mr. Smee heals for X (determined by Level) HP each time an enemy is Studied. If Mr. Smee is already at full HP, 35% of this healing is instead converted into a Shield that lasts for 10 seconds.
  • Mr. Smee deals 2% increased damage for every 1% of HP that he’s missing.
    +X Basic Damage
    +X Skill Power
+X damage to A Close Shave

When Peter Pan spots the ever-bumbling Mr. Smee doing a bit of grocery shopping so that the pirates don’t all come down with scurvy, he decides that he’s gonna have a little fun with his old nemesis’ number two. Peter Pan appears in front of Mr. Smee, who jumps in shock, but Pan tells the nervous sea dog that he comes in peace. In fact, according to the wayward youth, he feels bad for Mr. Smee and how the cruel Captain Hook continually abuses his best man. Mr. Smee is reluctant to admit that this is true, and when Peter Pan invites the pirate to join the Lost Boys and their new City friends to have fun instead of being stepped all over by a dirty ol’ codfish, he finds himself accepting the invitation, though with a fair amount of trepidation. As it turns out, Mr. Smee was right to be hesitant, since Peter Pan never had any intentions of letting the poor old pirate join the group as anything BUT the designated punching bag…

Why smee not friends or ally with captain hook

I didn’t think it would make for a very interesting story for Mr. Smee to just get bullied around by Hook yet again.

Hook cares about Smee otherwise he wouldn’t have kept him for this long. He’s his right hand man. Or in Hook’s case, his only hand man.
