Benjamin Gates (National Treasure)
Yes, it’s a Disney movie. Not a Touchstone movie. A Disney movie. Capital-D Disney. I’m not joking.
Studious and elusive, Benjamin Franklin Gates uses his knowledge of history and logic to ensure he and his allies evade the enemy’s clutches!
Role: Support
Position: Middle
Trial Team: Yellow
“I’m gonna steal the Declaration of Independence…”
Basic Animations
Entrance: Benjamin Gates casually walks into frame in his equally casual getup, slings the tube bearing the Declaration of Independence over his shoulder, and lights a torch.
Basic Attack: Ben swings his torch at enemies in melee range, a mildly surprised smirk on his face all the while.
Victory: Ben reaches into his pocket and produces the meerschaum pipe, giving it a close examination before staring wistfully off into the distance.
Defeat: Torch knocked out of his hand, Ben falls to his knees and looks around despairingly.
Skills
White Skill: Giving the Slip
- Ben warns his allies to watch out for the enemies’ attacks, granting them 4 stacks of Quickness that last for 6 seconds. Quickness allows the target to completely avoid one attack or debuff per stack, to a maximum of 4 stacks. The Quickness has a chance to fail on allies above level X.
- Animation: Ben looks around to both teams, and shouts a warning while pointing towards the enemy team.
Green Skill: Ancient Traps ()
- Ben trips a secret switch on the floor, causing wreckage and rubble to come falling from the sky onto the enemy team, dealing X (determined by Skill Power) Fantastic damage to each enemy 6 times.
– The rubble has X (determined by Level) HP and remains on the field until destroyed. While the rubble remains on the field, enemies cannot move or be subject to forced movement.
– While enemies are trapped in the rubble, allies become Precise and gain X (determined by Basic Damage) Basic Damage. Precise heroes can target Invisible enemies and their attacks cannot be dodged or evaded. - Animation: An ancient stone square appears at Benjamin Gates’ feet, which he accidentally steps on. Looking flatly alarmed, he glances up and then crouches into a huddle while large stones blocks and boulders rain down from above. Ben then gets to his feet, looking shocked. The blocks and boulders then remain on the field until destroyed.
Blue Skill: Tracing the Clues
- Ben analyzes the Declaration of Independence before measuring up the enemy team, Studying all enemies for 16 seconds and granting all allies 65% Normal Prowess for 12 seconds. Normal Prowess increases the amount of Normal damage dealt by the target. The Normal Prowess has a chance to fail on allies above level X.
- Animation: Ben sets his torch on the ground, opens the tube, pulls out the Declaration, and gives it a once-over. He then looks up at the enemy team and grins as he notices their weak points. He rolls the Declaration back up, slots it into the tube, and picks his torch back up.
Purple Skill: One Step Ahead of the Law
- Each time Benjamin Gates or an ally expends a stack of Quickness, they gain 20% Attack Speed for the rest of the wave. This stacks up to 10 times, and allies keep half of their Attack Speed stacks from wave to wave. This effect is reduced on allies above level X.
– Allies also gain 10 Normal Crit per stack of Quickness expended. This effect can stack up to 10 times, lasts 8 seconds, and does not carry from wave to wave.
Red Skill: Dedicated to History ()
- Ancient Traps now hits enemies 2 additional times, and enemies take X (determined by Skill Power) Fantastic damage every second while trapped in the rubble.
- When an ally already has the maximum stacks of Quickness when buffed by Giving the Slip, they instead receive 2 stacks of Hardy. This effect has a chance to fail on allies above level X.

Disk #1 - "Two Worlds, One History"
While Pocahontas is interested in Ben Gates’ histories of the United States and the founding fathers who helped make it a reality, she can’t help but feel like her peoples’ histories have been cast aside as a side-effect of the new foreign powers that came to her land. Ben, who is never one to turn down a chance to learn more about the history of his homeland, agrees that the history of the Native Americans and, specifically, the Powhatan tribe is a bit of a blind spot in his research, and asks to learn more. Pocahontas states that her people share their histories through stories, and guides Ben through the City to choice locations where the history of the First Peoples seems to come alive. And then some heroes with storied national histories are also at these locations. Because it’s a free country…er, City. They’re allowed to be there.

Disk #2 - "Clunky Spelunking"
Deep in a cave on the outskirts of the City, dark tunnels and subterranean pits sit ominously as unfinished subway sections programmed into the game. Rumor has it that the Inventor placed traps and treasures all throughout the cave system to put the heroes to the ultimate test of skill, tenacity, and observation. Independent of each other, Ben Gates (along with some support crew) and Cliff have prepared for a dangerous trek into the depths. Ben and Cliff make a bet on who will find the treasure first. Cliff is confident that his advanced jetpack and flight experience will net him an easy victory, but Ben believes that the Rocketeer will simply rocket all around the walls, unable to weave through the complex chambers therein. The race is on! Who will win–the studious explorer, or the bold pilot?
