The Podium Finishers of the Concept Creator Contest

Greetings, Concept Creators! The results are here on the winners of the Unofficial Concept Creator Contest. It was close, and there were a lot of good concepts, but in the end, they can’t all win.

First place finishers be PM’ed by the sponsor and they’ll discuss the prize. No personal details will be exchanged.

But before we can reveal the results, we must reveal the judges!

Unlikely Concept Winners

Darth Vader
3-Star, Frontline, Damage

Source: Star Wars Franchise
Info: Lord Vader uses his legendary lightsaber skills and control over the Force to destroy anyone who stands in his way.
Quote: “The circle is complete. When I left you, I was but the learner - now I am the master.”

Basic Attack: Vader slashes the closest enemy with his lightsaber.
Entrance: Vader starts out as a pitch black silhouette, standing in the frontline. His mechanical breathing then sounds, as his lightsaber activates to reveal himself.

Victory: Vader deactivates his lightsaber, breathing deeply.
KO: Vader’s lightsaber dies, as he drops to his knees.

White: Unleashed Force
Passively, every 3 seconds, Vader spins his lightsaber to block a ranged basic attack, deflecting it at a random enemy at high speed, dealing the damage of the attack plus X bonus damage (Fantastic). Vader’s deflect has a chance to fail if the enemy is above a Level Y. After Vader uses his active at least once in a wave, his attacks are always directed at the enemy he first used his active on, and deflected projectiles will always hit that enemy.

Actively, the player selects an enemy for Vader to Force Choke. He raises them in the air and clenches his fist, dealing serious knockback as well as X damage (Fantastic). The enemy is slowed for 50% for seven seconds, as well as Scared for ten seconds. When Vader uses this again in a wave, it will always target the enemy that the player chose before. The player can choose another enemy after the first one is KO’d.

Green: Power of the Force
Vader harnesses the Force to shield himself for X for nine seconds, and immunity to stun, freeze, silence, and slow while shielded. Disable immunities do not apply when shielded by other sources.

Blue: Saber Attack
Vader uses the force to pull an enemy towards him, Scaring them for 10 seconds. Vader then targets a basic attack towards them, dealing Fantastic damage and X bonus damage (determined by skill level.)

When Vader uses this skill, he targets the furthest enemy. If he has used his white skill at least once in the wave, he will target the enemy who his attacks are focused on.

Purple: Master of Evil
Vader gains immunity to Charm. Darth Vader gains 3 Fantastic Prowess when himself, an ally, or an enemy crits. This caps at 100 points above Vader’s current level. Vader starts with Fantastic Prowess equal to his current level. This resets every wave, starting with Fantastic Prowess equal to his level.

Each point of Fantastic Prowess above an enemy’s level increases the damage a hero’s Fantastic damage attacks deal to them by 1%, up to a cap of +100%. Fantastic Prowess increases may fail if the hero or enemy critting is above Level X.

Champion_David: “Lord of the Dark side showing up in the city using the force to attack and defend himself? Yes please!”

NCTzen_Haechan: “The animations are okay considering that he doesn’t make huge movements. The skills are also good even though there are some things that need to be improved. But well made anyway! The disks are okay too.”

The_Eavesdropper: “The concept is very well done, and fits the character. The active is a unique idea I haven’t seen used before, and even the animations are great.”

Storybrooker’s Scarlet Witch!

SCARLET WITCH
A 2-star, Midline, Control Hero

Info: Notably powerful, Wanda Maximoff Aka. Scarlet Witch has fought both against and with the Avengers, attempting to hone her abilities and do what she believes is right to help the world.
Quote: “You guys know I can move things with my mind, right?”
Basic Attack: Scarlet Witch shoots red psionic energy to her enemies.
Victory: Scarlet Witch crosses her arms
Defeat: Scarlet Witch falls exhausted on her knees.

White: Miracle!

Scarlet Witch unleashes a wave of red psionic energy to her enemies causing them X damage and cursing them for X seconds.

The curse have a chance to fail against enemies higher than level X

Green: Creating Diversion

Scarlet Witch uses her telecinetic powers to throw a car at the backline enemies stunning them for X seconds.

The stun have a chance to fail against enemies higher than level X.

Blue: Mind Control

Scarlet Witch uses her mind control powers to charm her enemies for X seconds.

Purple: Focus!

Every three attacks, Scarlet Witch uses her psionic powers to heal herself for x HP and gain shield for herself or the weakest allie for x seconds.

“Magic Users”, Stunning causes X damage.
+Cursing lasts 5 seconds more.
+7% damage in basic attack

Scarlet Witch/Merida
“The Red Head Girls”, Purple Skill shields herself AND the weakest allie
+8% HP in every heal
+Shield heals the weakest allie for x HP per second, as long as the shield is on

CowardWhisper8: “This skill set may be a little too simple, but it works very well for what the character is supposed to be, and the skills work well off each other in battle.”

Champion_David: “One of the simpler concepts in the Contest, I enjoyed reading its simple yet well put together skills. Each skill matched Scarlet Witch very well, and worked well for a game like this.”

NCTzen_Haechan: “She’s well described in the info section. Also, the animations are decent for her personality. The skills are also well made and not considered OP, and fits her Control role. The disks are also great. A well-made concept.”

The_Eavesdropper: “It’s no innovation of the century, but it’s an good concept. However, The use of a variable for the number of seconds in the blue wasn’t a good idea, as it would be really OP. StillmorebalencedthanD&B/10.”

MSH_Studios’ Takahashi Kenshi!

Concept Creation Contest: Unlikely Submissions!

Takahashi Kenshi
2-star, Midline, Damage

Source: Mortal Kombat franchise(Based on Mortal Kombat X).
Info: Once paid a high price for his ego, Takahashi Kenshi does the best he can to protect his allies from the upcoming danger.
Quote: “Sento contains the souls of my ancestors. They guide me.”.

Basic attack: Uses his Tele-punch.

Entrance: Comes at the battlefield slowly, holding Sento, then puts the sword behind his back.

Victory: Bows to the fallen enemy in a sign of respect.

Defeat: Gets pushed back and drops Sento.

White skill: Tele-spin

Kenshi throws Sento in the enemy team, and the sword starts to spin, damaging all enemies nearby by X per hit. Sento spins till Kenshi loses all his energy. If there are no enemies close to the sword, Kenshi takes it back to save energy.

Green skill: Call off your men

Kenshi lifts the closest enemy and throws him/her back, stunning him/her for 10 seconds. The stun lasts for 2 seconds for enemies above level X.

Blue skill: The bananced swordsman

Once per 11 seconds, Kenshi creates a tele-copy of himself, which then slashes the enemy with the highest skill power with Sento, dealing X true damage with each hit. After that, Kenshi claims 5% of the enemy’s skill power till the end of the wave.

Purple skill: Oh, I get it

Kenshi can’t get blinded. He also has a 50% chance to avoid stunning and silencing. The chance is lower against enemies above level X.

Speculation:

CowardWhisper8: “Even though I don’t know who he is, I was still really interested in the character’s skills and how he worked in battle, every skill works off each other very well with its creativity.”

Champion_David: “I love Mortal Kombat, one of my favorite characters was Kenshi, so of course I enjoyed seeing someone make a concept for him! Not only was it one of my favorite characters, but they also made them seem like a very possible character to fit into the city.”

NCTzen_Haechan: “Takadashi’s basic attack fits his midline position and the animations are also great. The skill goes well with his personality and those are very promising. As for the disks, they are decent and not OP. Great concept.”

The_Eavesdropper: “The concept is definitely one of, if not the best Unlikely concept on the forums. It is for sure as far as skillsets go, and the purple is fairly amusing too. Great job!”

CowardWhisper8’s Dumbo!

Concept Creation Contest: Likely Submissions!

Dumbo & Timothy Q. Mouse
2-Star, Frontline, Control

Source: Dumbo (Movie)

Info: Jumbo Jr., given the cruel nickname Dumbo, was separated from his mother. With the help of Timothy Q. Mouse to help motivate Dumbo, they will soar to new heights to defeat there enemies in battle so he can reunite with his mother.

Quote: “The very things that held you down are gonna carry you up and up and up.”

Basic Attack: Dumbo grabs a peanut from the bucket and shoots it out of his trunk at an enemy.

Entrance: Dumbo soars down from the sky with Timothy pointing him where to go with Dumbo caring a bucket of peanuts with his trunk before landing into place and dropping his bucket.

Victory: Dumbo wiggles his ear with joy as Timothy gives a happy gesture.

Defeat: Dumbo’s backs up slowly, frightened.

White: Pink Elephants!
Fantastic Damage. Dumbo’s peanut bucket glitches into a bucket filled with juice, Dumbo drinks the juice and shoots bubbles that look like… pink elephants?! Dumbo’s basic attacks are switched out with pink elephants for 12 seconds that deal X damage and decrease reality by X lasting for 6 seconds.

Green: An Elephant Fly
Normal Damage. Dumbo takes a trunk full of peanuts and jumps up in the air flapping his ear to fly knocking back enemies from the gust of wind he’s creating and shooting peanuts in the air dealing X damage to the three closest enemies.

Blue: Mouse Motivation
Timothy gives some calming advice to Dumbo, increasing Dumbo’s basic damage by X and armor by X for 7 seconds.

Purple: Magic Feather
“An Elephant Fly” now stuns enemies for 5 seconds.

The stun has a chance to fail against enemies above level X.

“Two Mice, One Elephant” , “Mouse Motivation” Supports Allies

.* S“Mouse Motivation” now increases allies basic attacks and armor for X% of Dumbo’s basic attack and armor for 5 seconds.

Speculation:

Gjmguy: “Definitely an interesting concept. The damage increases will definitely add up to a very interesting hero that gets stronger as time goes on. Not seeing much of a control here though.”

HeroSSWin: “Who knew that they can dish out good damage and control? Kudos for the great artwork!”

Underthesea: “This concept is very detailed as well as unique. Also the concept works with the game as much as the character.”

The_Eavesdropper: “His focus on basic attacks adds a nice synergy with support heroes like Rafiki and Judy, and he is well-versed in both types of damage. However, he seems like more of a Damage hero than a Control, and would require support to last on the frontline. Nonetheless, it’s still a solid concept, and bravo for the original artwork.”

Paperlucky’s Glinda the Good Witch!

Concept Creation Contest: Likely Submissions!

Glinda the Good Witch of the South

:star2::star2: Backline, Support

Source: Oz the Great and Powerful (2013)

Info: Though wrongfully framed and exiled, Glinda the Good Witch of the South remains a benevolent guardian to all her people. Kind and compassionate, she seeks to see the good in all.

Quote: You’re capable of more than you know.

Basic Attack: Glinda holds up her wand as it shines brilliantly, damaging 2 nearest enemies.

Entrance: Glinda floats inside a bubble to her spot. The bubble then pops as she lands gracefully onto the ground.

Victory: Glinda smiles as her wand glows with colors.

Defeat: Glinda gasps and drops her wand, shattering it on the ground.

White: Veil of Fog

Active: Glinda begins channeling her magic, becoming immune to all Disables for 5 sec and gaining X amount of shield. A wave of thick, white fog begins to roll across the battlefield from her team side, turning her allies Invisible for the duration. If the shield is destroyed, the ability will end prematurely.

This has a chance to fail on allies above X levels.

Passive: After the ability successfully finishes its entire duration, a portion of fog remains on Glinda’s team backline. Each following cast of Veil of Fog advances the fog further by one position (Backline -> Midline -> Frontline -> etc.) until the entire battlefield is covered.

Green: Luminous Array

Glinda holds up her wand as it shines a brilliant beam of rainbow light, dealing X damage per second and Knocking the closest enemy back a short distance. The beam lasts for 4 seconds.

All enemies standing inside the fog are further push back over the beam’s duration, stopping once they are no longer in the fog or once the ability ends.

Blue: Enchanted Bubble

Glinda points her wand skyward, creating a giant bubble that envelopes nearby allies for 5 seconds. These Allies cannot be chosen as a target (they can still be hit by AoE) by enemies outside the bubble over its duration.

Allies standing inside the fog AND the bubble are granted 15% damage reduction.

The Bubble protection might fail against enemies higher than level X.

The damage reduction Is less effective on allies higher than level X.

Purple: Mist of Protection

Allies inside the fog are healed X per second.

When an ally standing inside the fog reaches 20% of their HP, Glinda grants them 2 seconds of Invisibility. This can only be triggered once every 3 seconds, and once per allies.

Smoke and Mirror , Heal Invisible Allies

  • Invisible Allies are healed for 1.5% of their missing HP (per star) every second. This bonus is increased to 3% when said ally is inside the fog.
  • +X Max HP
  • +X Improved Healing

Glinda/Sally
Aromatherapy? , Fog Reduces Dodge Chance

  • Enemies inside fog has their Dodge Chance decreased by 10% per star (meaning if the dodge chance is 25%, the fog will reduce it to 22.5%)
  • +X Skill Power

Speculation:

Gjmguy: “Very creative and unique. The idea of her skill being cut short when she’s taken too much damage is a nice touch. An invisibility based hero is also pretty interesting.”

HeroSSWin: “The fog supplies her team power and invisibility, which caught my eye easily.”

Underthesea: “From not knowing who she was, I do now! You put a lot of character in the skills! Her skills have a very unique style that surprisingly works very well.”

The_Eavesdropper: “Glinda is a superb Support concept, it’s very innovative. Her ability to protect the backline would prove very useful, and her green is the first strong counter to jumpers like Moana and Gaston. Her Merlin disk could also easily become meta, and creates a great synergy with heroes like Scar and DWD.”

Dr. Facilier

Info: The devious Dr. Facilier uses his charisma and voodoo magic to attack and manipulate his enemies. He strengthens himself with the power of his Friends on the Other Side.
Quote: “Don’t you disrespect me, little man! Don’t you derogate, or deride . . . You’re in my world now, not your world . . . And I got Friends on the Other Side.”

Basic Attack: Facilier heals himself for X HP.
Entrance: Facilier walks into the battle grinning, twirling his cane.
Victory: Facilier conjures himself a skeletal mask and laughs evilly, as voodoo masks chant around him.

Defeat: The devilish Voodoo Mask appears at the end of the battlefield, dragging a terrified Facilier into his mouth.

White: Cursed Doll
Passively, Facilier enters the battle with his shadow. His shadow steals 100 energy with every basic attack. The shadow has no HP bar. Instead of taking damage, the shadow stores 50% of damage he receives, capping at 50% of Facilier’s Max HP.
Actively, Facilier removes his shadow in a puff of pink smoke, stealing all of it’s current stored damage and giving it to himself as HP. He then stabs a voodoo doll (which resembles a brute creep), dealing X damage and draining 500 energy from the enemy with the highest HP and giving their HP (not energy) to Facilier.

If Facilier activates this skill multiple times, he will heal the same amount of health as he did on the first use. The shadow respawns the next wave. HP and energy steals from both Facilier and his shadow are less effective against enemies above Level X.

Green: Suave Demeanor
Facilier charms an enemy for five seconds, increasing their Basic Damage slightly while charmed. When the target escapes Facilier’s Charm, they are dealt X damage, and Facilier heals for X.

Blue: Creeping Shadow
Facilier’s Max HP is increased by X every 2nd time Facilier’s shadow steals energy.

Actively, Facilier’s shadow crawls up and scares (Does Not Inflict Scare Disable) the enemy with the least HP, dealing them X damage and Silencing them for 3 seconds. For eight seconds, Facilier steals 80% of the healing they would have received from all sources. If Facilier’s shadow has been removed, the enemy will be Silenced and damaged
by Facilier “Scaring” them with a skeletal demonic mask.

Purple: Living on the Margins
When an enemy attempts to crit against one of Facilier’s teammates or Facilier himself, he deals the enemy X damage and gives it to himself as healing. The ally receives the attack as a normal
attack rather than a crit. This can trigger every two seconds.

This has a chance to fail if Facilier’s level is above X.

Collateral Damage , Shadow Buffs Allies
+X Armor to Tank Role Allies
Allies gain 100% Armor for 3.5 * S seconds on the first use of Cursed Doll in a wave.

Dr. Facilier/Merlin
Tampered Spellbook , Reverses Disables
+X Max HP.
•When Facilier is slowed, he instead gains attack speed equal to 50% of the slow level for 2.5 * S seconds.
•When Facilier Is Silenced, he immediately uses his blue skill on the offender.
•When an enemy tries to freeze or stun Facilier, he instead steals X HP from them.

Speculation:

Gjmguy: “A beautifully used passive. It’s especially interesting how his performance at the battle start determines his performance throughout the entire battle.”

HeroSSWin: “He makes a pretty good Tank: self-healing and damage absorption. That mix might make him pretty viable when brought into a good team.”

Underthesea: “From the beginning I could tell the skill set was amazing. As well as a unique idea and it all works well. And very well made passive to really make it special.”

The_Eavesdropper: “Facilier’s skillset gives him a unique starting bonus, and is a stronger counter to crit-based heroes like Barbossa and Stitch. His disks are well-balanced, and both campaigns look like interesting stories. Great job!”

Well I knew I’d lose in the Likely section, but thought I’d be in 3rd or better in Unlikely. Can you guys PM me your reviews about my unlikely concept? And which place?
