Disney Heroes: Battle Mode Update 5.9
Welcome to the Disney Heroes: Battle Mode 5.9 Update! This release features Luz Noceda, plus a number of improvements and bug fixes.
Overview
- New! Luz Noceda from Disney’s The Owl House
- New! Chapters, Hero Levels, and Ranks
- New! Official Discord Server
- Improvements to the Battle Pass
Luz Noceda
Luz Noceda is a Back-Line “Control” Hero on the Red team. Luz Noceda will be available in Early Access starting February 6th.
New Debuff! - Confusion
Confusion is a new Debuff being added to the game that is exclusive to Luz Noceda! Confusion allows units to initiate Basic Attacks and Skills that require an animation but interrupts them, preventing them from finishing. Skills interrupted in this way will still consume Energy and go on Cooldown. Confusion does not work against Revives.
Skills
Plant Glyph
Passive: In addition to dealing damage, Luz’s basic attacks Freeze enemies for a few seconds.
Active: Luz uses a plant glyph to Snare the enemy with the most Skill Power. The plant deals Normal Damage and Snares the target for a duration. Luz then Heals herself and her allies for a percentage of the total damage dealt with the plant glyph.
+Normal Damage
Fire Glyph
Luz blasts all the enemies in front of her with a Fire Glyph that deals an initial amount of Normal Damage. Then for the next few seconds enemies are Sapped, Drained, and take Normal Damage per second.
Luz and her allies also gain stacks of Determination for each enemy hit with this skill.
+Normal Damage
Light Glyph
Luz uses a light glyph that deals Fantastic Damage to the closest enemies and Blinds the entire enemy team for a duration. After the Blind wears off the enemies become Confused for a few seconds.
+Fantastic Damage
Stop Right There!
Luz’s basic attacks now deal bonus Fantastic Damage and additionally Shatter enemies for a few seconds.
Fire Glyph now also Studies enemies for a few seconds.
+Fantastic Damage
Magic Is Everywhere
Plant Glyph now Steals Energy from the enemy hit. This enemy also has their Skill Power decreased by a percentage and is Confused for a few seconds.
Light Glyph now does bonus True Damage to the closest enemies, Limits all enemies, and decreases their Armor and Reality by a percent for a duration.
When Luz uses Light Glyph, she and her allies each gain stacks of Hardy.

- Early Access Trials
- On top of improved rewards, players who purchase the Premium track will also unlock a limited-time Early Access Trial that spotlights the new hero!
- This event will allow players to use a maxed out version of Luz to earn even more rewards on top of the Battle Pass!

Chapter Badge Recipe Changes
As part of our efforts to improve the game’s long-term health and maintain game performance, we saw that we needed to improve upon the badge recipes in game. We saw that due to the sheer amount of bits that needed to be pulled after each content release, it causes poor game performance leading to lag and game crashes.
- Simplified Recipes
- To combat this cycle of increasing lag, we have decided to simplify the recipes starting in Chapter 78
- With this new system, you will only need to raid the most recent chapter for E+6 badges.
- Simplifying the recipes decreases the total number of raids or battles needed to farm badges. Therefore the cost per run will increase significantly to compensate for this.
- Affected Chapters
- For the time being, as we continue to monitor server health, changes to badge crafting will only affect new chapters moving forward. Previous chapters will decrease in cost as usual (Chapter 77 will decrease to 12 stamina per battle, until it reaches a minimum of 6). Stamina costs for Chapter 78 and beyond will remain static. We plan that continuous increases to stamina gained for free will work as the catch-up mechanism there.
- We will review how well this new system works against game performance, and may consider converting previous chapters as well, to further prevent game lag.
- Elite Campaign Costs
- This will also affect Elite Campaign Chapters moving forward. As a result of the increased cost per run, we will also improve the amount of Hero Chips and Red Skill Chips dropped to better reflect Red Skill Costs.
- While it will not affect Hero Chip drops prior to Chapter 78, Red Skill Chips drop will increase across all chapters.
- Collections
- Due to the changes in the badge recipes, there will be 3 less Badge Avatars available in new Collections.
Improvements
- We launched an Official Discord Server! Join us here: Official Disney Heroes: Battle Mode
- Trial Event cards are no longer visible after all resets reach 0
- Mid-season Patch adjustment
- To ensure that Eda remains patchable, we will be making a mid-season change of adding The Owl House franchise to the Hercules and Unity franchise trials
- Hero Balance Update
- As we mentioned before, Hero Balance took a temporary step back as we focused on game performance
- We’re still aware of the effects of power creep, especially related to the release of a new hero
- With Luz’s release, we’re aiming at a midpoint where she is balanced in a relatively healthy state with her kit created to stay viable in the current meta
- On top of that, we will also have a Super Charge event running alongside her release, to boost up her base stats for the duration of the next 2 Battle Passes
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a visual bug with mod upgrades capped at an incorrect number
