i am not sure either but i am intrigued and i want it
You would be able to do more stuff in the forums. I should know because i use to have it.
Being a āRegularā essentially makes you a mini moderator. It allows you to like more posts, gives you some new perks to do with topics, and (relevant to this topic) gives your flags more weight behind them. Essentially the way I understand it is that flags done by Regulars immediately go to moderation and if so many Regulars flag a post it will hide it as if it was confirmed by actual moderators.
Obviously abusing said powers can definitely bite you in the rear and Regulars are more often than not held to a higher standard. That being said the requirements for Regular status are decently high as @LilRubyKinz posted previously and the terms for losing Regular status are the inverse of obtaining it. Hard to earn easy to lose.
I could be completely wrong about any and all of this though as this was my own understanding of it so feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
Rothan is correct.
But Polaris or any other leaders can demote someone by themselves. So donāt expect to get away with things. And in the past some people have gotten it and did not deserve it.
Tbh, it is a super flawed system. And is way to easy to obtain it. Log-on, like, post, read and repeat. For a short amount of days which makes it non important. And to keep it is way to easy as well. Just like posts and log-on. And you can keep it for over a year.
For a while the regular rank was just all fun, if you got it nothing really happened just fun in games. You wouldnāt try to get it.
But now everyone tries to get it. And like I said it is way to easy, and since there are so many spammers here lately they can obtain it and spam flag.
What I want to say is off-topic. However I say for to know how people think about flagging.
As all know, Regular rank has some privileged rights(changing topic title, flag replies, moving topics across categoriesā¦). So Regular members must use them with discretion.
In the past I accidentally tapped flag button before gettimg Regulsr badge. Thetefote my First Flag badge is absolute my shame forever even it was the accident.
Regular members are kind of Judges in the forum. They might be recommended by members. I want to delegate my Regular to someone who has Respected badge, just my personal opinion.
Wellā¦
The rate of new regulars has increased significantly this year compared to 2019ā¦
I wonder if PB has softened the rules
I am never want to be a regular because it is a big boulder on meā¦that is true.
This is the main stress, you donāt want to be demoted, so you need to say something more carefully.
Not PB but the upper one- discourse, this forum system made by discourse, not PB, and also that first flag badge also set by discourse. Honestly I hate flagging. I donāt know why PB choose this systems
Sorry to reply a 15 day old topic
But I must say, I have flagged you before, so this is the main stress of regulars
I thought It is got flagged because of the picture is not Disney
I can say, itās just unnecessary. I donāt know what is the rank for even purpose
In all honesty it makes sense why PB would include flagging. The man power that would be required to moderate a forum even one so small in comparison to full triple A games, especially those for MMOs, is far too large for PB to reasonably manage while keeping a good stream content flowing. Why is it that Polaris is the only human moderator we know of? Probably because 1 person is all they could afford to have do this job.
When you introduce a forum in the manner like the discourse template that includes flagging, it allows you to have a user base that self moderates. It is free labor done by those who are passionate about the game. This puts a lot less strain on the moderator especially once you get Regulars who act as mini moderators.
This allows PB to retain ultimate control of the forum while at the same time delegate the monotonous maintenance that comes with a forum. Obviously this doesnāt allow them to be completely hands off but it does help prevent burnout of the actual paid employees.
All that being said, as a community it is also necessary to bring up issues with the layout of the forum otherwise it can become an even bigger headache. This is a subject that personally I believe PB should be concerned with because it jeopardizes one of their official platforms of communication.
I checked PB website, and I found out this thing
So that can be a necessary to include flag systems from discourse, but I hate the hidden system. So I can edit before appear and no one see flag posts before

There are three types of individuals that could be behind this false flags problem.
1. Regular old spammers
You could probably tell who these kind if people are just by looking at the title. These people donāt care if they are flagged and will just keep doing it causing countless, popular topics to close. Some things they spam are āI spam hereā or just type random letters and numbers.
Some individuals are...
Big Crash, A Cringe, I_am_simple, and some new users(that are mainly their alts).
2. People who want revenge
These type of people are people who whine and get mad when their post is flagged. What do they do, you say. Well, they flag back for revenge.
Some individuals are...
Gelatin_From_BFB_LXVII and a few other people who I havenāt seen for some timeā¦
3. Regulars
This hasnāt been confirmed yet, but some regulars could be behind this false flags. Why? Well, they feel that it violates the rules(off topic most of the time), and they flag when they really shouldnāt. Some issues that could prove that regulars are behind this is @IAmASnowySpongeYo 's flagged comment on the DHBM Photo Gallery. His reply had a yoda meme talking about Kim Possible not in the game. Well, maybe some regular saw that it was āoff topicā becausd yoda isnāt disney, so they flagged.
Some individuals are...
None, at the moment, but we could find out in the futureā¦
