Milo Thatch (Atlantis: The Lost Empire)
Having learned the secrets of Atlantean technology, plucky scholar and linguist Milo Thatch uses the knowledge and ingenuity of the ancients to repel his foes!
Role: Tank
Position: Front
Trial Team: Yellow
“Alright, Milo. This is it. Any last words? …Yeah, I really wish I had a better idea than this!”
Basic Animations
Entrance: Milo Thatch speeds by on a flying-fish-shaped Ketak, speeding to the right off-screen before reappearing on the left side. Visibly rattled and nervous, Milo gets the vehicle under control and faces down the enemy team with right hand placed firmly on the Ketak’s touch pad.
Basic Attack: Milo causes the Ketak to fly in a tight circle, ramming enemies in melee range with the craft’s broadside. Just like with Angel, Dash, etc., Milo dodges most regular attacks during this animation.
Victory: Milo raises both fists and whoops in celebration before realizing the Ketak is now drooping to the ground, whereupon he quickly places hands on the pad and keeps the craft hovering.
Defeat: The Ketak falls to the ground nose-first, dumping Milo out in front of it, where he tumbles clumsily into a heap, looks up in anguish, and throws his head back in despair.
Skills
White Skill: Atlantean Defender
- Milo uses his crystal to call an Atlantean Defender, who places a Barrier on Milo and his allies. The Barrier absorbs damage for 5 seconds, and then converts all of the damage received into a Shield that lasts until destroyed. The Barrier has a chance to fail on allies above level X.
- Animation: Milo fumbles at his neck and raises his crystal high into the air. Not long after, the giant stone hand of an Atlantean Defender appears above the battlefield and projects a glowing blue Barrier around Milo and his allies. Milo then realizes his Ketak is drooping, so he hurriedly plants his crystal back into the slot. Once the Barrier expires, a shimmering teal bubble representing the Shields appears on Milo and his allies.
Green Skill: Evasive Maneuvers
- Milo loses control of his Ketak and moves erratically, Distracting all enemies for 10 seconds and granting Milo 4 stacks of Quickness that last for 8 seconds. Milo completely avoids one attack or debuff per stack of Quickness, to a maximum of 4 stacks. The Quickness application has a chance to fail above level X.
- Animation: Milo opens up and consults the Shepherd’s Journal, but quickly loses control of the Ketak, which begins to tilt and jitter about wildly, before a visibly dizzy Milo gets the craft back under control.
Blue Skill: Crystal Laser ()
- Milo’s Ketak fires a searing laser at the nearest enemy, dealing X (determined by Skill Power) Fantastic damage to the target and X (determined by Skill Power) Fantastic damage to nearby enemies.
- Animation: Milo slaps his hand down on the Ketak’s touch pad, which causes its mouth to glow brightly and fire a fiery blue laser at the target. Upon hitting the target, the blast sends flitting blue sparks and embers in all directions.
Purple Skill: Tireless Truthseeker
- Milo is immune to Blind and Silence effects. This has a chance to fail against Blind and Silence applied by enemies over level X.
Red Skill: Grandson of Thaddeus Thatch
- The splash radius and splash damage of Crystal Laser is increased by 100%, and Crystal Laser is now used at the start of each wave.
- Evasive Maneuvers now also grants 2 stacks of Quickness that last 8 seconds to all allies. This has a chance to fail on allies above level X.
- Milo permanently gains X (determined by Level) Skill Power for each stack of Quickness he expends.
+X Skill Power
+X Armor
Crystal Laser deals X (determined by Skill Power) additional damage to its main target

Demona doesn’t usually give humans the time of day, but when she sees the human researcher, Milo Thatch, reading from an ancient tome to perform acts of technomancy with a magic crystal and a flying machine, she decides it might be worth her while to learn more. Milo is at first startled by the sight of Demona, but finds his calm when the female gargoyle assures him that she, too, is a researcher interested in the knowledge of the ancients. She offers to let Milo peruse the Grimorum Arcanorum if she can scan the pages of the Shepherd’s Journal. But they quickly realize they each need to learn a new language in order to translate each other’s tomes. A surprisingly wholesome week (for Demona, anyway) passes by as the two read and share knowledge of Ancient Scotland and Atlantis, as well as other historical books recommended by some of the City’s biggest bookworms. But Milo begins to get a bad feeling about his new friend–the Grimorum is full of spells that would prove useful in battling the creeps, yes, but there are a shocking number of curses and black magic spells in the book. Not to mention, Demona seems rather hostile to most other humans in all the places they meet up. Milo gets the feeling his research companion might have some sinister intentions for the knowledge of the Atlanteans…

Disk #2 - “No Day But Today” ()
The City may constantly be in a state of low-level siege, with creeps constantly spawning and villains occasionally causing some kind of ruckus, but that hasn’t stopped Milo and Kida from having plenty of romantic outings–sampling the cuisine, seeing the sights, reading at the Library–but Kida feels like the City has more to offer them in terms of adventure and activity. From his perspective, Milo just wants to try to live as normal a life as possible with Kida, but from Kida’s perspective, being in this strange new world gives them the opportunity to do things they’ll never have the chance to do again once they find a way back home. Conceding that she makes a convincing argument, Milo agrees that they should tackle the new and unknown head-on! And so, Milo and Kida plot their itinerary: They’re gonna go to Flynn’s Arcade and try out those “video games” that everyone seems to love! They’re gonna check out Shank’s underground racing circuit and experience the need for speed! They’re gonna check out the ships at the Port and be captured by Captain Hook’s pirates! Wait…what? Well, it seems the day has suddenly turned sinister…
