January 2021 Sign-In Hero & Shop Refresh!

Awesome! I’ve been thinking about having another character from Big Hero 6 since the only characters were Hiro and Baymax. I’m glad to see Honey Lemon join the team, and I do predict to see Fred, Wasabi, Go-Go, and even the masked man to eventually join in as well! We’re about to enter a new year, and hopefully everything around the world will be safe and fine. By the way, Happy New Year!

Happy new year

Yes and Colette!

I honestly cannot make sense of his skillset involving nanobots in any game.
Yes, he had them in Disney Infinity too.

The nanobots belonged to the villian, Hiro only controlled them for one specific scene and then never again, he definitely did not use them to fight the villian, in either the movie or the show.

In the show, Hiro upgraded his guantlets for more magnetic abilities, he could attract or repel metal objects.
He later added magnetic disc launchers, which could create magnetic barriers or wrap up enemies in a magnetic cocoon.

Which is what I’d prefer to see, something more in line with his actual abilities.

He created the microbots. Yokai just stole them

Not only that, but Hiro’s moveset in this game is more focused on the Megabot, which is what Hiro originally created that inspired him to make the Microbots.

He doesn’t use the Megabot in combat either.
The only time they appeared in the show was when Hiro created an army of them to reprogram Trina’s Deathbot army into Healthcare Companions.
And even then, they didn’t fight, just jumped on the Deathbots and swapped their core program chip.

Short version, I don’t like using Hiro because he’s technically someone’s fanfiction ideal, not the genuine article.
Every time I have to use him in gameplay, I resent doing so.
Which means I am going to be very irked doing Honey Lemon’s Friendship Disc, as Hiro is her only option! :rage:

I admit to not knowing much about the Disney XD show, but in the original MOVIE, Hiro used his Megabot in the beginning scene at the robot fight club, and later on, they become the inspiration for the Microbots that he shows off at the showcase taking place at Tadashi’s college. So they were very much a part of the movie and thus make sense for Hiro’s kit, at least imo.
If, however, we were to hypothetically not include the Megabot and Microbots, what would Hiro’s moveset in this game even look like? Because outside of those bots, if we’re going based off of the movie, Hiro doesn’t really have too much else he can use on his own as a skill set.
(And one other thing, Hiro is not actually Honey Lemon’s only friendship disk. She has one with Sally as well, although for some reason it wasn’t mentioned in the recent notes Polaris put out.)

Literally the first scene in the movie :man_facepalming:

Personally, I do not think that the creators really base Big Hero 6 off of the TV show and more the movie. In the movie, Hiro does not really have a ‘superpower’ that is incorporated into his suit. The only thing it really does is allow for protection and so he can attach to Baymax. Because this game is an RPG and heroes participate in combat, it makes total sense that Hiro would use Megabot while the other members of his team would be in suits.

I think this is probably the case, as well. In general, they probably only base characters’ movesets off of their TV show forms if they actually originally came from/are most well known from TV shows (Kim Possible, Ducktales characters, etc.)

Yes, the Megabot gives Yama a well deserved face slapping (a lot more painful then the description sounds).
But that was it, for the rest of the movie, the Megabot is just a prop Hiro carries around, like his metal teddy bear or something like that.

I guess emotional issues or perhaps fear of the technology being abused again kept Hiro from recreating the Microbots to be used again.
And he can do it, he made some microscopic Microbots to cure Liv Amara of the infection that was slowly killing her.

I would need time to work up a proper concept for Hiro’s non-bot powerset, but in essence, it would be all about magnetism, zapping enemies with magnetic pulses to slow then down, a forcefield to repel projectile attacks and a single enemy stun.

And thanks for telling me Sally is an alternative to Hiro for Honey Lemon’s friendship disc.
I like her skillset better, so would use her instead.

So You’re saying you don’t use Hiro because of how his skillset isn’t the “genuine article” as you say? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

That’s pretty…dumb…in my opinion… But if you don’t want to use Hiro then I guess that’s your choice :man_shrugging:

It is true that the Megabot’s only major appearance is at the beginning of the movie; I’ll give you that. But even so, the Megabot became the inspiration for the Microbots, so even though it isn’t physically shown very often in the movie, it still had a noticeable (albeit indirect) impact on the movie plot. And again, Hiro was the one who invented the microbots, and as you yourself said, he has the ability to make them again, so I still don’t fully see why they couldn’t be part of his moveset.

And even if we’re putting the bots aside, although it would be interesting to see a non-bot skillset for Hiro, the issue still lies in that most of the stuff he’d use would come solely from the TV show, since none of the abilities you mention appear in the actual movie. And not only did the movie come before the TV show, thus making it Hiro’s proper origin (unlike, say, Kim Possible or the Ducktales characters, who were introduced through TV shows), I doubt everyone who’s seen the movie has seen the TV show, so it’d be a bit awkward to have a moveset that most people wouldn’t easily recognize.

This discussion is straying far away from the subject of the thread, so how about we just leave the discussion here and agree to disagree?

Well The show is good and it’s probably gonna be a mix up of their skills in the movie and the Show

I’ve never seen the show myself, so I can’t really judge on its quality, but my point is that I imagine most people who’ve seen the movie have NOT actually watched the TV show, so a skillset inspired by the show might confuse a lot of people who play this game. Whether or not the show is good or popular has nothing to do with it.

In my personal opinion, Disney Heroes cannot afford to ignore the BH6 show, there’s so much potential there to be explored, more then can be covered in one movie.

Mostly more characters, for the goodies, MiniMax and Globby.
The villians include Obake, Yama, Momokase, Trina, Noodle Burger Boy, Baron Von Steamer, Supersonic Sue and Stu, and maybe Chris.
