Like the 90s Threw Up, But in a Good Way - Max Goof (Likely Concept)

Max Goof (A Goofy Movie)

Rebellious teenage energy and awkward teenage improvisation collide as Max Goof slides into battle, taking down creeps using any method at his limited disposal!
Role: Damage
Position: Front
Trial Team: Red

“I don’t wanna be ‘away from it all,’ Dad! I like…‘it all’…”

Basic Animations

Entrance: Max slides in on his skateboard and uses Not Just a Goof. After arriving in position, he throws his hat and sunglasses behind his shoulder, rolls up his sleeves, and gets ready for fisticuffs.

Basic Attack: With poor form and little technical skill, Max throws a series of three punches that vaguely look like a pro boxer combo one might see on TV.

Victory: Max produces a pair of sunglasses, places them on, and gives the enemy team a pair of snarky finger-guns.

Defeat: Max tumbles over backwards before landing on the ground, where he rests his head on one hand and taps the ground morosely with the other.

Skills

:white_circle: White Skill: The Perfect Cast (:fist:)

  • Max uses his fishing rod to hook the frontmost enemy, and tosses them out of frame. After 5 seconds, the enemy reappears and lands in the enemy team’s backline, dealing X (determined by Skill Power) Normal damage to the target and X (determined by Basic Damage) Normal damage to all enemies near the target.
    – The primary target is then Disarmed for 12 seconds. Enemies that are Disarmed cannot use their basic attacks and have their Armor and Reality reduced by 50%. The Disarm has a chance to fail against enemies above level X.
    – All secondary enemies damaged by this skill become Immobilized for 12 seconds. Immobilized enemies cannot move or use any ability that deals damage or applies debuffs. The Immobilize has a chance to fail against enemies above level X.
  • Animation: Max’s face lights up as he gets a bright idea, pulling his father’s trusty fishing rod out of his pockets and hooking the frontmost enemy, tossing them off the right side of the screen as he hurriedly performs the Perfect Cast. After 5 seconds, the enemy then flies in from the left side of the screen and careens catastrophically into the enemy backline, creating a dust cloud on impact.

:green_circle: Green Skill: Kick and Grind (:fist:)

  • Max jumps onto his skateboard and proceeds to ride through the enemy team and travel off-screen, doing tricks all the while, dealing X (determined by Basic Damage) Normal damage to all enemies and knocking them back. Max then reappears and deals the damage and knockback a second time to all enemies.
    – Max is untargetable and grants all allies Shell for 5 seconds. Enemy debuffs do not hit allies with Shell, and instead bounce back to hit the enemy team at random. The Shell has a chance to fail on allies above level X.
    – Each time Max Crits or Super Crits with his basic attack, the cooldown of this skill is reduced by 2 seconds.
  • Animation: Max’s skateboard rolls in from the left side of the screen, and he jumps onto it. He does a kickflip and grinds on the front wheels as he passes through the enemy team and rides off the right side of the screen. Max then reappears on the left side of the screen, grinding on the hind wheels until he reaches his frontline position and jumps off. The skateboard then careens off-screen, dealing the damage and knockback again to all enemies.

:large_blue_circle: Blue Skill: Empty Pockets (:sparkles:)

  • Every 9 seconds, Max digs through his pockets and pulls out an improvised weapon that he uses to deal X (determined by Skill Power) Fantastic damage. The player can choose which weapon Max uses. While on Auto, Max will select each weapon in order then cycle back to the first weapon.
    – Goofy’s Fishing Rod: Max clocks the nearest enemy with a fishing rod, damaging and Stunning them for 6 seconds. The Stun has a chance to fail against enemies above level X.
    – Cheez Whiz: Max sprays sticky cheese substitute at all enemies, damaging them and reducing their movement and attack speeds by 75% for 6 seconds.
    – Possum Hat: Max throws the hat he got from some stupid rat show at the furthest enemy, damaging and Charming them for 6 seconds. This Charm cannot be evaded, and enemies Charmed by this skill gain X (determined by Skill Power) Basic Damage and 150% increased Attack Speed.
  • Animation: Max hurriedly reaches into his pockets. If he pulls out the fishing rod, he leaps into the air and brings it down on the nearest enemy’s head like a club. If he pulls out the can of Cheez Whiz, he winces and pulls away as he sprays its cheezy contents wildly, leaving a web of slimy “cheez” on all enemies. If he pulls out the possum hat, he glowers at it before throwing it angrily at the furthest enemy, upon whose head it happily rests for the duration.

:purple_circle: Purple Skill: Not Just a Goof (:sparkles:)

  • At the start of each wave, Max immediately uses Kick and Grind. When used in this way, Kick and Grind deals X (determined by Skill Power) bonus Fantastic damage.
  • Max gains 100% bonus Attack Speed for 10 seconds after using The Perfect Cast or Kick and Grind. If Max already has this buff, the duration is extended by 4 seconds.
  • Animation: The same as Kick and Grind, but with his hat and sunglasses on.

:red_circle: Red Skill: Stand Out! (:sparkles:)

  • While Max has an Attack Speed buff, his basic attacks deal X (determined by Skill Power) additional Fantastic damage.
  • Max gains 60 Normal Crit and Fantastic Crit against slowed enemies.
  • Max deals 100% extra damage to enemies above 75% HP. This effect is reduced against enemies above level X.
    +X Basic Damage
    +X Skill Power
+X.0% Attack Speed from Not Just a Goof

:tada: Disk #1 - "Never Meet Your Heroes"
Max is completely and utterly stoked to come across Powerline in the City, but becomes more and more ambivalent about the fact that Powerline gets so much joy and excitement from hanging out…with Goofy. Though Max and Goofy’s relationship is nowhere near as strained as it used to be, Max still finds it incredibly baffling that Powerline–tremendous, big-time pop celebrity and multi-millionaire–enjoys his father’s company so much. When Goofy invites Max to join the two of them on a whirlwind party adventure, Max accepts. Maybe his rebellious side is just making him think his dad is lamer than he really is. Or maybe his dad really is just a wacky goof, and Powerline is, too. Guess the time has come to find out!

Ever since arriving in the City, Max has been getting along pretty well with Ian and Barley, even becoming a mainstay at their weekly Quests of Yore table. But one day, Barley approaches Max and Ian with an expression of immense pride and barely-restrained excitement. He has just passed his master’s course in City Security at the CPD, and he is now authorized to take a squad with him on his patrols. “You know what this means?” he shouts with glee, “Quests of Yore: Live-Action RPG Edition!!” Their weekly tabletop game has just been upgraded to the next level, with the seemingly endless waves of creeps serving as the perfect fodder for a good tabletop adventure. While Barley and Ian are excited at the prospect of the LARP itself, Max looks forward to the upgraded tabletop game as an opportunity to make a name for himself and prove that he’s got something to offer both his friends and the City at large.
