There’s no limit to how many characters one hero can have friendships with. It’s what they choose in the patch notes.

It’s a big discussion because some characters are pre movie/tv show (like Ursula), post movie/tv show (Jafar, not counting direct to dvd sequels like Jafar returns) and between events of the movie/tv show (like Bolt)
Aladdin characters are actually from the timeline during this movie.
(Right before Iago kicked Jafar’s lamp into lava)
Really? Maybe I missed some clues that aim to that. But in conclusion depends of the timeline Perblue chose the characters that are available for the game.
Final joke: But if we keep talking about this we will need to bring Doc Brown or The Doctor to explain us this better

We usually get it the week when the prize wall for each character ends
And that will be a full update?
