PerBlue increases skill cost once again!

The concept of “much” is really subjective.

In any case, you gotta also be spending “not much” since day one to be able to keep up until now, specially with the mass release of new heroes that make old one irrelevant, the huge amount of energy needed to craft new badges and the ridiculous amount of gold to level their skills.

I just spend on the heros i use most around 20

Thats unique to your own playing style. That isn’t how everyone likes to play. The game should adjust for players based on what is being released. And that is the point of this thread. We are being given the bare minimum. Things need to be adjusted in-game to match to the increase in levels, heroes, everything. Right now the game is extremely unstable. And the developers are making up for it by taking away and forcing the spending of more real money. And that isn’t right, especially for those who have already spent so much already. Give us what we want so we will want to continue spending real money. If they keep it up, they will lose a majority of their spenders and this game won’t survive long.

The strategy has always been based around forcing, rather than encouraging, people to spend. That doesn’t look to be changing any time soon, sadly

I thought you “kept up”

Thanks for being patient while I got back up to speed after my time out of the office and did some investigation into this issue.

We haven’t made any retroactive changes to the cost to increase skills without telling players first. Whenever we’ve done this in the past, we’ve been transparent about it, letting players know and explaining the reasons for the change.

The gold cost for skill upgrades scales as the level of the skill increases. It steps up at levels 3, 4, 43, 87, and 131. There are many places in the game where costs scale up - campaign stamina, hero stars, etc. These are not things that we announce ahead of time - they’re part of the system within the game - the natural progression.

There is a balance between what things cost in the game and the supply of resources the game provides. We know we don’t have that balance perfect for gold, and we’re working to address it. Recently, we did increase the amount of gold and stamina that’s available in the game (not just in solo deals) to help with this. We’re always working to fine tune this balance to ensure the game experience is both challenging and rewarding.

That’s the thing that matters for me.
@Polaris can you share something about that?

Only the heroes i want to use. Not gonna work on all of them.

@Polaris To be fair, the gaming community was fine with things as they were before PerBlue nearly destroyed the in-game economy by raising gold cost. We were told that there were lots of players amassing gold. I’ve been playing since Worldwide launch, daily, actively, and am in the dolphin range of spending. I can provide empirical data that refutes such an assertion. Our Guild had been a competitive Top 5 Guild and no one hoarded gold. It’s these counterintuitive decisions that seem to fly in the face of anecdotal experience that has your player base already mistrusting the devs’ plan of progression. We understand that you can only tell us what you’ve been approved to tell us, but it’s becoming apparent that the player base is getting fed up with the devs’ constantly moving the goals once the players begin to perform adequately. We would like transparency, otherwise, I can confidently tell you that I’ll soon be spending my money elsewhere.

So you really think the xp drinks balance is just fine in the game. It is 10 times worse than the gold balance in the game. Hope you will look into that too someday. I posted screenshots above for the xp required and the amount of drinks we get from ports which is miniscule compared to 1m xp required at lvl 155.

Personally, the XP drink balance is actually fine. Granted I only raid heavily with a Double Hero XP bonus active (alongside the drops & gold bonuses), but I have all my main 25 or so heroes at 155 with a plentiful surplus of XP drinks for 160 or some other heroes.

I have basically no gold though, and haven’t even upgraded any skills past 150 yet - with only those 25 heroes even at that - despite only raiding heavily with a double gold active. Red skills and the increased step-up in skill costs & badge crafting have really depleted it all.

The double gold item used to at least cover all my badge crafting requirements for that session, now it hardly scratches it.

For me at least, Gold balance is definitely nowhere close to being good enough, which I’m pleased that PB understand, but XP drinks are pretty good at the moment.

I have to agree with Ken here. The XP drinks have become such a pain that it is never enough for my main 30 heroes. And when a new hero comes out, and if I decide to invest in them, make them my main one, I will have to STOP leveling up ALL my current main heroes so that I could have enough for them. As well as gold.

And that’s not the only occasion I have to do that. We need to level other heroes to unlock their friend disc (usually at highest possible level) and level up at least their white skill to have high success rate of friend mission…

So yes, while I appreciate that you guys are working on improving the gold situation, but please, do not forget about EXP drinks. They have bene in the same situation, for a long time now…

And yet, another update with a level cap raise, release of red skills across all servers, an R5 release, and close to no “improvements” to what was stated in the reply. Lies. Lies. Lies.

Based on the backlash in the comments on that thread, people are noticing. slow clap good job PerBlue. Karma.

Main thirty heroes? I can barely keep two of my heroes up with the XP drinks I have between update. I only have 3 heroes maxed at lvl 155. The next batch is a few at 145, then it drops to 130…and most are still at level 100.

The balance in this game has become worse than a one legged trapeze artist who drank two bottles of vodka trying to dance a jig during an earthquake on a wire. It’s absolutely ridiculous and has only been getting worse each update.

Just had another friend call it quits today from playing the game. And he was a dolphin who spent a good deal of money on it. And he’s just walking away now.

I don’t know why PerBlue is killing their game, but they have to stop soon or else their greed will kill their game.

Gold is too plentiful. I’d like to see more solo deals. Thanks for listening per blue

^ despite that being a fairly blatant troll post, in theory it’s perfectly acceptable - let’s not flag people just for disagreeing with them pls :stuck_out_tongue:

Trolling is defined as by posting inflammatory or off-topic messages online, purposely saying something against the purpose of the topic in order to get a rise out of other users. They know this is a hot issue. They are trying to make users angry here. It deserved to be flagged. (Thank you to whoever did it - they actually deserved it)

Gold cost for skills is scaled perfectly. Mo money mo problems.

I wish I could like my own post and my flagged post

I just leveled up to 145 a few days ago. and as of now, I only have 15 out of my main heroes at that lv, maxed skills.

The others are not. 3 of them at lv 141, 7 at lv 140, and the rest are from lv 139 to 136. I even dropped Calhoun and Mr. I at lv 130 a long time ago because they had become irrelevant

The reason? I think we all know why
