Update 1.2 Common Questions
Hey everyone! There was a lot to take in with this recent update, and we hope you’ve been enjoying it so far! We wanted to take a moment answer some of the common questions and feedback we’ve been seeing since Update 1.2 has released:
Where is Maui?
Maui will be coming as August’s Sign-In Hero and will appear in your Heroes list on August 1st. Make sure to login in throughout August to collect his hero chips!
Why is Stitch in the VIP Crate?
When we have updates with new heroes, we usually reserve two of those heroes as exclusives: one for the VIP Crate and one for the Diamond Crate. Additional new heroes usually go into shops. Unfortunately for 1.2, we had a smaller number of new heroes ready to release.
We realize that new heroes are one of the best and most exciting parts about the game (it is Disney HEROES after all), so we’re working hard to make sure we keep the heroes coming. Quality matters a lot to us, so we only release heroes when we are happy with them. All that said, we do expect to have a larger number of heroes ready to release in our next update.
It’s also worth mentioning that we didn’t make the decision to put Stitch in the VIP crate because of any social media feedback we received. In Stitch’s case, his skills balanced out on the higher end of the power curve, so we decided that he made the most sense as an exclusive. As is the case with all exclusive heroes, they will soon be rotated into more accessible spots like token shops and the elite campaign.
Why were video ads removed?
While some players may have liked video ads, most players did not engage with them (less than 1% of players have been using them). So we decided to remove them to reduce the clutter on the stamina screen and streamline our client.
We have added surveys to our offer system for free diamonds. We hope that folks will enjoy this new way to get free diamonds to use in game.
Why is The Heist only on Server 1?
The Heist is a big new feature that uses real-time gameplay, so we wanted to make sure it performs technically before rolling it out more broadly. Like you, we want The Heist to be available to everyone as quickly as possible. As soon as we’re happy with it, we’ll roll it out for additional servers!
I’m having issues with The Heist!
We’re working on an update to fix Private Heists that we will release soon. In the meantime, please create Public Heists to invite your friends. When are you going to change which heroes are available in which shops?
This is something we do periodically based on the number of heroes available in game and how many people have updated the heroes currently in the shops. At this point in time, there are still many players unlocking and evolving the current shop heroes. We will revisit things the next time we update content or release a new client update.
