This wasn’t modern day America or Europe, you realize.
yeah im aware.
Yet you aren’t. No one ever told him it’s bad, and the women loved him all the same. While it was wrong in modern times, it wasn’t in his time.
Since the beuaty and beast is not set in modern day europe even thought gaston thought had no right no think or read i would not call gaston evil and it was ok since the women got their right equal later than the time which set in the movie
I would call Gaston evil. The line “Belle is mine!” when Gaston was fighting the beast was originally “Time to die!”
But then again it was Medieval France and Gaston could not tell that Belle had Stockholm Syndrome and there were many stereotypes about women back then
The original line is more justified than the replacement, actually. Considering things like cutlery and furniture came to life (not to mention Beast himself), any actual person from that period would think demons were behind it and run away screaming. Gaston meet his end while proving he was as brave as he said he was. I have a newfound respect for him after this discussion.
Heh, one mild inaccuracy in your statement, He only stabbed beast AFTER beast had shown him mercy.
Beast could have killef Gaston, but instead, Beast let him live and turned to walk away but Gaston leapt up from behind and stabbed beast…the. He fell to his doom.
Serves him right imo… Gaston is prolly one of my least favorite villains ever…
Gaston might be your least favorite… but Hans will always be the worst (imo)
Heffalumps and woozles and dr. Hamsterviel are the worst!
I’m pretty sure killing a king/queen, marrying their daughter, killing the king/queen to be on the throne because they are 13th in line in their own kingdom is totally not the worst thing to do compared to other Disney villains right?
It was a joke since I like Winnie the Pooh and stitch… of course there are worse villains
There were old Disney cartoons used as propaganda for WW2, so Hitler is the worst Disney villain.
The worst villain is humans…
