[Feedback Poll] Players's opinions and thoughts on the Wish Crate

First of all welcome to the post and I hope you all can find the polls interesting whether or not you actually vote :-).

Now that we have had a day or so since the Wish Crate came out I thought it would be time to have Wish Crate feedback poll as it seems like there are a lot of opinions in regards to feedback for the Wish Crate. As such I would like to help easily gather feedback and read up on in the forum of polls.

If someone here has ideas for questions early after I have posted feel, feel free to suggest some questions and I will add them to the polls :-).

(Note: The [Interesting] option is not intended to mean that you agree with the pricing, just that you find the Wish Crate interesting concept wise).

What are your first impression of the Wish Crate so far?
  • Great
  • Good
  • Interesting
  • Indifferent

What do you think about the Wish Crate costing 1000 per crate and 10 000 x10 wise?
  • Spot on
  • Fair
  • Indifferent
  • Not yet decided
  • Expensive
  • Way too expensive!!!

Are you willing to spend Diamonds on the Wish Crate with the current price?
  • Yes, sure
  • Maybe just 1x single now and then
  • Indifferent

  • Only the free ones from Contest
  • No, I boycott it

If the price per Wish Crate were between 300-350 diamonds and the 10x option being 3000-3500, would you be more likely to spend your diamonds on it, including the 10x option?
  • Yes! Feels way more right priced
  • Maybe, might now and then.
  • Indifferent
  • Not sure
  • Still too much
  • No, still boycotting

While I won’t address all the content the Wish Crate have in terms of resource types, I thought it would be appropriate to address the Badge situation in terms of the Wish Crate at least.

(Note: The Wish Crates can give max rank badges, but seems to be chance based).

The Wish Crates don’t seem to always give max rank badges, which are the badges max ranked players need for their characters, what do you think about this?
  • Fair business
  • Indifferent
  • Not sure
  • Unideal
  • Cheated!

If the Wish Crates with each buy would increase the chance of getting maxed rank Badges you need like the Hero Chips, is it something you would like?
  • Yes! Helps a lot
  • Sounds decent
  • Indifferent
  • Not sure
  • Don’t think so
  • Bad idea

The lower ranked badges we get will either way be useful for newer characters or future Yellow badges, so while some of them may not help at the time for your chosen character, it still may help in the future so it is something to keep in mind.

So yeah, I hope this post can be insightful and helpful, both for us players and PerBlue :-).
Discussions are welcome if interested and I hope you will enjoy discussing here.

Like I mentioned at the top of the polls I am up for adding polls early so yeah feel free to suggest some questions for polls if you have some.

To me it’s easy. As a free reward these crates are fantastic, as a purchasable item…way overpriced, and the rewards aren’t worth it. I would only get those if they were, like, 2K-3K per 1x10 item and only during FTNs. Right now, I highly doubt wish crates are a worthy investment.

Understandable and I think most people likely think this way in terms of the Wish Crates, mainly the part about the Wish Crate being too expensive at the current price.
Between 200-399/400 for a single 1x as in 2000/3999/4000 10x wise seem to be the price people would be fine with the Wish Crate and its costs, I think more than 400/500 per crate people would likely still think it is overpriced even if not as much and technically an okey 1x purchase maybe even if not a good 10x purchase price wise.

Until the Wish Crate lowers it price I think most people will likely try to go by free Wish Crate if PerBlue give them out in contests, or need to spend some more diamonds quickly to get some Progress Rewards they want in the contest if no other good way of spending diamonds has appeared over the weekend.

That’s what I at least mainly think myself in terms of the Wish Crate at the moment at least.

I’d like to add that it’d be great if there was another benefit to buying 10x beyond “increased chances”, which I can’t find anywhere (though I’m probably just blind). Reduced costs or an extra pull for free would be nice.

Sorry for replying so long afterwards, but went to sleep around that time ;^^.

Anyway, I agree with you that it would be good if the the Wish Crates had more bonuses in terms of more likely getting the best things eventually, though it would mean that you have to stay with the character you chose for the bonuses to last though.

Interesting ideas. which I know Kingdom Hearts Union X did, as in falling price banners, banners being the way you got characters there.
If I remember right the price started around 3000 and could go down to 1900 as a minimum.
Could be an interesting idea for Disney Heroes as well :-).

I guess through my own ignorance I believed this crate would help build my O2 level hero now, not later. I spent the free offer and much more (a few other guild members won the jackpot so I kept trying thinking my jackpot must be next) So far the awards have gotten me only red skill chips (too many), badge bazaar currency, and two R4 level badges (two of the same one). IMHO the rewards should be better tuned to the present needs of the player or hero.

I do not know what level spender I am and usually quite careful with my purchases. This offer sounded genuinely good but I feel as though I have been very much taken to the cleaners.

Seems like you had a pretty bad luck in terms of your pulls on the Wish Crate, too bad and yeah probably best to wait on the Wish Crates until PerBlue have lowered the pricing for the Wish Crates.
Might be that you tried one of the low percentage chance characters, but yeah can’t be helped now I suppose.

As far as Red Skill Chips goes, I can say that the Wish Crate are a late game crate, so probably technically intended for after like after having gotten to Red rank.
Still, I imagine some of the rewards were helpful for you still :-).

This isn’t just a later-game crate. This is a P2W crate. The costs are way too high for those that are accumulating diamonds from daily rewards (arena/coli). They need more of something… I’m not sure what it is… but on my 10x, I pulled the hero twice, totally 140 chips. I didn’t feel like that was a win.

And these crates should not be giving me lower level badges… it’s a WISH crate. Give me the stuff I need, not the pieces and parts.

I would actually say that at 1000/10 000 diamonds it isn’t really a P2W/P2P crate either as it is likely too high priced for their taste likely as well.

I do think 10 000 is definitely too much, but I do think around 300/3000 would be an okey price so I am up for that.

I think the Wish Crate is likely intended to be a Loot Box and as such be based on random chances, but as it is called “Wish Crate” it would be nice if we could get at least 1 thing for the character per pull/draw that we actually need for the character we choose.

Taking inspiration and image from the game Moonlighter that I own, I think this is would be about what our players thoughts on the Wish Crate’s general pricing:
image

I think at least for the price to be somewhat fair for us players the Wish Crate’s price has to be around 300/350 per Wish Crate or lower, around that price range is understandable for the most part.

I think at least the Wish Crate can’t be lower than the price than the Slinky Crate logically, since the Wish Crate is in many ways an improved Slinky Crate concept wise.
While it of course can be lower in theory, but practical wise in terms of business I would think likely not.

So yeah, this is what I think at least and hopefully PerBlue will listen to us players and lower the Wish Crate’s general price to around 300/3000 :-).

In the past year, loot boxes have been punished by a few governments. Games can be addictive, but they should not be extreme gambling especially when you don’t make any money back like with casino gambling.
Also, why should I gamble $1,000’s when I can buy a game for $5-50? In-app purchases represent greed.

Wish crates are more loot boxes than anything else in DH. It’s bad, much worse than special crates. Even if it discloses the odds, it’s doesn’t make the box better, it just shows how bad it is! Spending $100 for resources worth $10? It’s a joke.

In business, the more you spend, the better the deal. PB uses the opposite mentality: $5 and $10 deals are really good and $20, $50, and $100 deals are terrible. Why are you backwards? That is an insult to dolphins and whales. All if this is just pathetic.

First of all, good post SaveElle and I agree with you :-).

Overall, I think if anything PerBlue are 1/2 years too late to get in on the Loot Boxes in such an loot box like sense. While the other crates are essentially loot boxes as well, to me they feel more like “Surprise Boxes” and not as pushy loot box wise, so that’s the main difference as well as releasing them with such an overall high price.

Here are some interesting articles and yeah, loot boxes are now confirmed to basically be like casino slot machines, so regulation is likely coming within a few years I imagine.

https://chambers.com/articles/loot-boxes-has-pay-to-win-become-pay-to-gamble
.

While it will still likely take some time before regulations happen across the globe so whether mass loot box regulation happens after or within Disney Heroes lifespan I don’t know.
I assume at least by 2025 there will likely be more loot box regulation than what are right now, if not like in Brazil’s case banning boot boxes and fining the company.
.

As for the topic of deals, I as an F2P can’t comment 100% on the deals and their actual value vs price curve, but yeah I have noticed that the price seem to increase faster than the amount/value in the deals.
If the higher priced deals doesn’t have the equal amount in relation to the lowest price, then overall why would we as players buy higher priced deals if they don’t give equal or more in value as the lowest priced deals.

On a more personal note, I can at least say for myself that I rather buy console games that I only need to buy 1 time to have a good experience with rather than bying a lot of microtransactions to try and make a good experience. That’s my view on microtransactions and loot boxes.
